Moonrocks farming

Recommended Posts

This is a video on how to use the moon base event to your advantage to farm moonrocks. Here's how it works:

Any hound or werepig close to the moon base will target it, even if they weren't spawned from it. When the event ends (the staff is removed, the base is destroyed or the staff transforms) any hound or werepig around the moon base will turn into a statue, which will give 1-2 moonrocks when mined. In this case, the hounds spawned from the vargs will go for the moon base and they won't listen to their varg anymore. Because of this the vargs will spawn even more hounds and they will only stop when the event is over.

The moon base has 3 phases, the first two last 18 seconds and the last one 12 seconds. You can manually remove the staff only during phase 1, which is why I'm using gunpowder at phase 3.

The structures used as walls are burnt end tables and the door is made of fossils. This design can be done with pig houses, but remember to put some food behind the end tables so the pig will try to eat it and they won't go back to their homes at dusk/night. Using pigs is less efficient though, since with vargs you can get unlimited hounds.

Special thanks to plizeee123 for discovering this mechanic with pigs and @AnonymousKoala for telling me to use vargs.

Neat. With this it looks like I could get enough moonrocks to actually use the moonrock walls. Although I'm likely gonna just use a bunch of pig houses instead. Doubt it'll be just as effective as the varg method, but I just hate dealing with vargs.
