Hibernating Bearger strats?

Recommended Posts

In my solo DST game, I spent the whole autumn down in the ruins killing clockworks, and when I emerged, on the last day of fall/first day of winter, Bearger spawned near my base, which is in a pig village. He seems to have dug up some berry bushes and then immediately fallen asleep. He'll do this for the rest of the winter and the spring, right? Unfortunately, bats keep flying out of the caves and attacking him, causing him to wake up briefly, kill them and yawn, putting me and the pigs to sleep if I'm standing too close to him. Is there a way of getting him further away from the base without falling victim to the yawn?

push him away

Update: Worked like a charm, and it transported him to nearly the exact spot where I'd like him to be, which I found out while leading Deerclops around the same area. He woke up long enough to kill Deerclops and I'm hoping to use him to harvest wood in the fall. (Don't want to risk fire in the summer.) So my next question is: If there is a Bearger left alive on the map, will a new one spawn? If so, do they ever fight each other?

I think there can be only one bearger at the same time. Each time I didn't kill it till the next autumn, there didn't come any new, and when I killed it, it came in the first three days of the next autumn. I guess it wasn't just accidental :)
