World Size Comparison - With Maps Revealed

Recommended Posts

I was looking for an example of the 'world size' option while playing Don't Starve before I created a new world, but the only post I found was this (it was made back in 2013, Im not sure if any world generation was updated in the game since then):

I dont know for anyone else, but no matter what I did the images wouldnt open, I think they are deleted or something, so I made a new version!

All these worlds were generated completely default with RoG, the only thing in the options that changed was the world size. I personally looked at the size by the number of biomes in each world, and how big the bee hives looked on the picture (lol)

Hopefully this helped some people!

All these pictures were zoomed out far enough to see the whole map, so they are zoomed out at different distances, which is why I recommend looking at biomes/beehives

In the images it looks like in the larger worlds there are more resources and structures, they arent just spread out, though they are farther apart than in the default world

Default:

Medium:

Large:

Huge:

The default and medium look pretty much the same, medium might be slightly bigger. Large is bigger than medium and huge is just GIANT.

Default has about 10 'Sections' (seperated biomes, 2 of each common biome)

Medium has about 14 'Sections (seperated biomes, 2-3 of each common biome)

Large has about 20 'Sections' (seperated biomes, 2-4 of each common biome, 1-2 of other biomes)

Huge has about 24 'Sections' (seperated biomes, 3-4 of each common biome, 2-3 of other biomes)

Common biomes: Grassland, forest, savvanah

Other biomes: Dedicious forest, desert, graveyard, marsh, mosaic, chess, rockyland

I hope this helped some people!

It definitely helps. Now I'm sitting before my screen and quietly rocking myself while sobbing over that swamp on Map Small.
