  1. I have been hard at work implementing a highly requested feature, world seeds! now you can set world seeds from the world gen options screen, and generate the exact same world over and over again. Here is the rundown on world seeds: Forest and Cave worlds can have unique seeds; you can set world seeds before generating your world/view existing world seeds here: Sadly, due to a(now patched) bug, worlds generated on versions before Game Update 369546 cannot be reproduced with world seeds. To let you know if this is the case, worlds generated before that version will show you this: You can still view the world seed by viewing the debug console log(hitting the tilde key (`) which can generally be found right below the "Esc" key) But, you won't get an identical world when using that seed. Inside the world, the server actions menu(that can be accessed by holding tab) has a new option: This option will cause the world to generate anew, but using the exact same seed as the current world. This will generate an identical world except under the following conditions: The world was generated before Game Update 369546. Worldgen has been updated since you generated that world(either a mod or a game update) Regenerate World will cause a new random seed to be used. It's not currently feasible to allow you to enter a custom seed from that menu when regenerating a world, sorry. World seeds should be compatible with all worldgen mods(obviously, when you generate a world with a worldgen affecting mod, the seed will result in a different world than the exact same seed generating a world without any worldgen mods), if ever a mod doesn't generate an identical world, tell me about it, and I can work with the mod creator to fix it. For dedicated servers to specify a custom seed, simply add an override called worldseed and set it to be your custom seed. To get this mod, subscribe to [API] Gem Core, it has been bundled inside there since it uses about 17(I'm exaggerating, but it does use a lot) API features, so I figured I should just roll it out inside Gem Core. After enabling the mod, go to the Forest/Cave tabs to set the world seed. Lastly, a huge thanks to Scott Hansen for helping me get the necessary fixes into the game itself, and helping me figure out worlds seeds better.
  2. I hate posting so many topics but this is something I really feel needs to be seen and taken into consideration by the dev’s! Dont Starve Together is a randomly Generated game world, except... it’s not. A lot of the games areas always look the same and have the same contents, sure those locations may spawn on the map in a new area but for the most part once you Do find these areas they contain the same stuff (such as gold ingots always in foggy cemeteries etc...) i want the option for a Truly Chaotic world where EVERYTHING is truly and 100% randomly generated. (Meaning I may not find a single golden nugget at all while wandering through a foggy cemetery and instead there may be random swamp tentacles that pop up out the dirt.) Pleasssssseeee give the game a Truly Randomly Generated World option. I am sure that PC has some mod for this.. but consoles do not have access to mods, so please consider! Thank You!

It covers almost all the basics you need to know before joining a roleplay. 2. No strict rules regarding what your character does. Cursing allowed, whatever. 3. If you’re altering the world in some way, say what you’re doing and then I will say what happens or if it succeeded or not. (Ex: killing something, if you see something or not, if you hit something or not, etc.) 4. Don’t make overpowered characters. One character per person unless they have a pet or something. I don’t want a whole party of dragons flying around. Human-like characters are better for this world. Edgy brooding characters are not fun to play with. 5. Message me before posting your character so I can look over it first. Your character cannot have lived in the world before unless you are joining in later.     I was thinking in maxwell quotes from the final chapter, in the nightmare throne, in this, to be more precise: "Or maybe They've grown tired of me." "Heh. Took them long enough." "They'll show you terrible, beautiful things." "It's best not to fight it." "There wasn't much here when I showed up." "Just dust. And the Void. And Them." "I've learned so much since then. I've built so much." "But even a King is bound to the board." "You can't change the rules of the game." "I don't know what they want. They... they just watch." "Unless you get too close... Then..." "Well, there's a reason I stay so dapper." "What year is it out there? Time moves differently here." "Go on, stay a while. Keep us company.""They" or "Them" are beings of terrible and unfathomable power, beings who are best not to fight.... They just watch, (unless you get too close in your shadow control capabilities, and they ****** you), only watch, day and night.... And then, i watch this video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BUcTVIV5y0 And i watch a dark observer watching.... an observer i already know too well, when my characters go insane, (second number 00:45) we can se another one in the william carter puzzle number 6, and another one in the pics of maxwell´s house. Sometimes, we can see them even while sane: http://dont-starve-game.wikia.com/wiki/File:Shadow_watcher.png I think they are the beings who retain maxwell captive, the source of all the "allucinations" (we already now oficially that the allucinations are real beings and not allucinations at all, not only because they can move the webs of a spider den and alert the spiders even when you are far, but because a totally official phrase says: "Low sanity is not fatal, but strange creatures from another time and place are attracted to madness." And, we can craft things with the substance of their bodies) They are watching in every moment not only maxwell, but everyone in his realm, that maxwell built for them, even if normally we can only see them at low sanity (normally, sometimes we can see them sane) What do you think? You believe the same as I ? What do you think is its real purpose? Why only watch, if you have power for create or destroy almost everything? I´m open for all kind of theories, critics or just opinions.
  7. Don’t Starve Log Hello all, my name is Maz, and I am doing my first “Activity Log” for Don’t Starve! This is pretty much a log I have been working on of all my past worlds, to see what I can improve in, and I have decided to show my fellow Don't Starve players my progress over the past day. The guidelines I will be following are the following: · Close your eyes and pick a random character · Customize the world however way you like. World 1: Willow (Finished) Day 1: When I spawned, there was a respawn right beside me, so that was great. I spent that day collecting twigs, grass, and berries. Day 2: Kept travelling to find a good spot, and focused more on grass. Got attacked by a spider and went to 50 health. Day 3: Got a stack of grass and I found that wooden thing, and the ring thing. Day 4: Set up base and made some chests to store stuff and a science machine. Day 5: Chopped down a single tree and a tree guardian came. I kept running to my science machine to make prototypes until I got a spear and a log suit. Kept kiting and kiting. I started with 70 health and ended with 15 when I killed him. I also had to drop stuff to get rope in my hotbar. At least I got logs. Day 6: Pretty much ran out of grass, wood, and twigs while fighting the tree monster, so I spent day 6 collecting resources again. My berries spoiled too. Day 7: Set up traps for rabbits and fought off 2 hounds. I also ate my koalefant trunk, and I’m glad I did. Without it I would’ve died to the hounds. Day 8: Got a full chest of rabbits and made an alchemy machine. Day 9: Went to get some gears, killed all except one, and forgot to look at my health. I died. Luckily I had a respawn. Day 10: Respawned on day 10 and went to grab my crap. Didn’t know the lightning guy’s lightning 2 shot. That was the end of my journey. Notes: This world was amazing, I found the wooden thing early, and I had a respawn. Sadly, the awesome world I thought it was had an unexpected turn. Giving me a tree guardian before I could make good enough tools, and hounds the earliest they can come, it really turned me the other way. I quickly fell behind, causing me to be forced to fight for some gears by day 9. I've got to set up a bit faster, and have some patience next world. World 2: Wilson (In Progress) Day 1: Spawned in a bad world in my standards. No flint, berries, or carrots. Went through a worm hole and travelled for the rest of the day, until I found one flint on the ground, right when the moon came out. I just waited the night out to do anything. That's it for now, I'll update this daily, so no worries.
  8. After over a hundred days of careful exploration I finally found your majesty sitting in a beach. His land is in disarray all taken by the spider hordes. I took his villagers for a raid and managed to finish five queens/nests before they died. I left the last one turning. The irony is that now I see a worm hole connecting my base to his village. It will take sometime but I will clear his island, move his village and build a kick ass base around him.   9. Is there a way to save the map or re use it? I like when I'm given the option to choose to play it hard or make it easier. The spirit of the game might be yours, but how I want to play it, is mine
  10. It feels like the Don't Starve world is too... "Flat". The world needs hills and mountains and different levels of terrain (both above and below average height terrain). Hopefully this will add more possibilities such as stairs, climbing, rivers, and small lakes, different altitudes, jumping, basic swimming, holes, tunnels, mountains, hills, etc. An example of how this would work would be: [*]Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars or [*]Super Paper MarioPrinny the Quiet (I know their both Mario examples but I can't think of any others) they worked on a 2.5D/2.2D landscape so why couldn't Don't Starve? Example: from another thread. I feel like Don't Starve would really benefit from this, what do you think? [Edit:] The tags of this thread led me to a thread made in Nov 2012 about this subject. Feel free to read that one too for more clarity.

  12. i was thinking about having a little more variety in this game (when it comes to food) Having large game included in this game would be interesting to see (in my opinion) maybe something like a deer could be added to the game. Large game could result in more amounts of food, but would be much more difficult to acquire just an idea
  13. So I was exploring my world when I found a pig village and got super happy but for some reason the king is not there, its just the Pigman. This worrys me alot because In my opinion the King is one of the most important creatures in the game because you can get infinite gold from im. I don't know if I should keep exploring this world or make a new one... So yeah...help?!?!
