EuedeAdodooedoe
So, I find the current fighting of giants a bit meh. Some others might be in the same position. So, to (mostly) buff giants, I have some suggesti<3ons. Also, just noting this here; Dragonfly seroously needs some bug fixing. Bearger: * Bearger will have a chance to make you drop your weapon when hitting you, instead of it being guaranteed. Just for the sake of randomness and to not make it too hard. You'll see what I'm talking about in a bit. * Add back his crawling animation, when he's on 4 feet. Currently, he just walks on two legs and his speed is out of synch with his animation (he's twice as fast as he should be). Plus, his AI seems to be pretty broken. This didn't happen in single player, so what the heck?! * When he swipes at you and hits you, he should push you away as well as have your weapon dropped and thrown along with you. This would require some new animations for being thrown away. After you land, your character would play that old wormhole waking up animation that is present in single player currently, was present in DST before it was changed and is present when you get resurrected via touchstone. Also, make him drop you down and do the same animation if he stomps you and hit you. This would mean that if he hits you, you are pretty much dead if you play alone. If you have some mobs/players helping you out however (and especially players), then you could beat him, but it would be kind of a struggle. And yeah, you could still beat him solo, but one mistake (hit) and he's got you by the balls * Add a new attack for him; charge and bite. Without any armour, you'd probably be pretty much screwed here. Basically, if he's aggroed to you and you get too far from him, he would get on all 4 feet, charge, do a bite animation and if you're not riding a beefalo, he would grab you by his jaws and chomp you down, doing an animation like how dogs usually chomp down their toys (you being Bearger's toy for teeth in this case, haha!) (each chomp-down would deal 150 damage by default. Too much? LOOK AT HIS FREAKIN' TEETH!) until you inevitably die (after which he would spit you out and you would loot all your stuff) or something else attacks him, in which case he would spit you out (you would be thrown away from him, playing the "flying" animation and the waking up animation afterwards) and aggroe on whatever last attacked him. If you're charged towards whilst riding a beefalo, he would just chomp on your beefalo, dealing perhaps 100 damage to it. I mean, he is biting, but not spressing down all of his jaw onto the beefalo! * The previous attack mentioned would have a chance (like 50% chance of happening) when you get tok far from Bearger and he's aggroed to you. The other attack being his good old charge attack after which he stomps, whilst on two feet. Lets hope you get that one instead of the first one if you get too far from him whilst solo-fighting him This all would make Bearger excellent for multiplayer combat! But not so great for single player combatting, unless you have pigs with helmets with you or something. * All of the attacks and features I've described would apply whilst he's hibernating as well, just that he would make you sleep more often than any of the other described attacks. Dragonfly * I know I'm coming out a bit nerfy here for her, but reduce her health to something like 5500. And dn't worry, the suggestions below will probably make you think "yeah, I think that's actually a reasonable amount of health for her ;_;" * Lavae have x2 less hp. Waaaait, I haven't finished... But... They can jump over walls and Ice Flingomatic no longer freezes things normally. But in case of the lavae, it would freeze them, only slower; instead of 3 snowball hits, Lavae could only be frozen after like 10 snowball hits. You could still freeze them via 3 hits of Ice Staff, whilst with a melee weapon such as the Ham Bat, when fresh, you could kill them with 5 hits if dealing normal amount of damage. * Dragonfly would have a chance of hitting your weapon out of your hands when hitting you. * When swiping, Dragonfly would do an AOE, like Deerclops and Bearger do instead of hitting just one target. These attacks wouldn't damage Lavae, however. * Dragonfly is a tad bit slower, just so you can kite her whilst she's moving towards you and you're using a cane and a road/cobblestones and have normal amount of speed by default. Otherwise it's wiser to tank her since you're not going to dodge her attacks anyway, even if you're on road and have a cane when she is attacking whilst moving. * Lavae will regen health from any fire related thing you throw at them, be it a torch, campfire, fire staff, lava pools (yeah, don't let them stand near those) or whatever else, including fire that their mother breathes... * Dragonfly will stomp down whilst no Lavae are alive and she is not enraged occasionally. This would deal like half of the damage her stomps do when she's enraged would deal and also without the fire attributes. The stomp she does in before flying away (despawning) would deal damage too if you're too close, but you could attack her until she actually starts to fly away. * Dragonfly would have two new attacks; Fire Breathing and Fire Spewing. She could still move whilst Fire Breathing. The Fire Breathing attack would be her just blowing fire forward for like 3 seconds and waving it left to right and such. This attack could only happen whilst she's enraged or Lavae are alive. It would also heal any Lavae the attack hits. Fire Spewing acts similarly, but not exactly. The attack would also occur only whilst she is enraged or Lavae are active (so not at the beginning), but it would last 5 seconds, she could not move whilst carrying out the attack and the attack would be her spewing fire/a lot of her saliva, which would make attacking her whilst she is carrying out the attack from all directions impossible to not make you get fire burnt, unless you wear scalemail (or are Willow >_>) * Whilst not enraged but aggroed, Dragonfly would have an angry face like the one she has whilst flying away/landing back down. I honestly can't standher face looking like she is @Asparagus the whole time she is fighting and not enraged. * She would still be a raid boss, but she would only spawn in during Summer. You could hear her growl at some point in Summer and then after the growl she would land down. This would happen on the first day of Summer, like in the middle of the day or something... Similarly as to how Bearger spawns in Autumn. Still think her hp's too low for her? * Lavae will attack other things than players if other things attack them and Lavae and Dragonfly would not detect players when players are hidden (wearing a bush hat or a snurtle shell and hiding). * Just to bring back what she has in single player; if she detects somrthing flammable near her, like tumbleweeds, she would stop and spew iut saliva to burn it, after which she would eat the ashes. In the case of tumbleweeds, she would be able to stop them, like players can when opnening them. * Dragonfly wouldn't get knocked out anymore, letting players farm scales. Instead she would loot 6 scales every time. And 8 meats. In terms of gold and gems, I honestly don't care too much. It's a pun that she loots them, so whatever. Deerclops Ahh, this guy! I'll be honest, I don't have as many ideas for him as the other giants, but whatever. * Deerclops has a Freeze Breath attack. This attack would function kind of like Dragonfly's Fire Breath attack, though it would be done in a straight line all of the time instead of being swayed around left and right and would slow players down and start to freeze them until they finally get frozen. Freezing in general would slow players down (not the cold, but the frost, that such from blue hounds when they get killed). Attacking things via ice stave would slow them down too unless they're completely frozen, in which case they would be stuck in place obviously. The Freeze Breath attack would last 5 seconds as well. * Deerclops cannot be frozen. Like, at all. Why could we do it in the first place when RoG was introduced, I've no idea because Dragonfly could not be harmed by fire or be lit on fire. * The ice that deerclops spawns upon attack would damage anything and anyone they hit upon first spawning, with damage rangong between 10 - 40 or 50 or something, depending on the size of the ice that hit you. The ice would also not disappear upon being spawned, which would show for a great battle place afterwards. The deerclops itself could just walk through them and break them whilstwalking and whilst swinging his attack, however, leaving ice, like 1 or 2. The left-over ice could be mined for the ice as well. * Instead of simply destroying structures, Deerclops would first freeze structures (making them unusable until the ice melts thanks to a exothermic campfire/firepit (they would be inflammable whilst frozen if they're flammable by default) or until they are mined (yes mined, not hammered, the mining requiring one hit, before a cracking animation starts to play after which the structure would break) if he gets killed right after he freezed the structure). After freezing the structure, his next attack would destroy the structure, looting half of the items the the structure would normally loot and would also loot like 3 - 5 or something like that amount of ice. Makes him a tad bit less destructive, but with the cost of having to slowly recover some structures possibly, in order to actually use them. * Deerclops will eat ice. Because why not? * Deerclops will break mini glaciers too for its ice to eat it. * Deerclops, just like Bearger will have a chance of making your weapon drop out of your hands and if he hits you, he will set you "flying" (I honestly do not know how else to describe this). Goose Goose Agh, the weakest boss in the game. Watch her turn into one of the strongest bosses in the game! Well, probably... Certainly more powerful than Deerclops with the suggestions I've made at least. * GMoose will have a chance knicking out your weapon out of your hands upon hitting you. Honking will always drop it, however. * She has a new attack; fly up and charge. This would deal x2 amount of damage than usual and would happen only if you've gone too far from her and she is still aggroed on you. * GMoose will recover health upon being struck by lightning and would get charged (she will recover 1000 health and when at 3000 hp (half of her hp), she will call out a lightning to struck her, if she hasn't been struck already. Hitting her via Morning Star would charge her as well, if she hasn't been charged already). * Attacking GMoose whilst charged will struck you every time as if you got hit by lightning or a charged Volt Goat. Same goes for when she hits you, just like lighting ir a charged Volt Goat. * Whilst charged, she will have a new attack she will do instead of the honk (will have a 50% chance of being carried out). This attack will be a giant tornado, which will deal more damage than Mossling tornado, but would move around slower. This attack would last 10 seconds, before GMoose would get too dizzy. She would stay dizzy for like 5 seconds or so. The tornado would also shock players, since this is coming from a charged GMoose! The attack could perhaps act a bit like the Sealnado; sucking things in (but looting them after GMoose goes dizzy) and would suck players closer, but slowly, if players are not moving away from the tornado GMoose or would actually suck them towards her faster if they are moving towards her. Welp, that's all I have for buffing giants in terms of ideas. So, what do others think about these? Do yoy want stronger bosses like this or not?
