Evening brightness

The brightness in the evening period seems very inconsistent and random. Sometimes its reasonably bright and can clearly see everything, then sometimes its really hard to make out anything. It's a bit of a strain on the eye. Is there a way to fix this? or is this just normal. It's a bit annoying during the later seasons of shipwrecked, and pretty much all the time in RoG where the evening is so long.

The brightness is not random at all. Although the colour scheme changes with every season, it should not affect brightness too much. However, dusk in dark forests is obviously even darker, as there is little colour to begin with.

The ambient brightness at a given time of day has to do with cloudiness! If it's going to rain soon, the lighting is dimmer. This happens in both daytime and dusk.

Also it's harder to see what's going on at dusk if you're in a swamp or an evergreen forest, since the terrain is dark-colored.

Yeah, I hate trying to go tracking in the dark forest at dusk, 'cos I can only BARELY see the suspicious dirt piles. 

...I totally haven't set forests on fire just so I could have some more light to see the dark brown piles against dark brown turf.  Nope.  Not at all.
