Ideas for a pvp server

So I'm planning a pvp server, but to make it more interesting, I'd like to add some goals to spice it up a bit. Some ideas I have are . . . 

 

- Making areas to control (probably with marble flooring and a minimonument fire place), kind of like objectives. 

- Instead of a conch shell (because unfortunately DST doesn't have any), I want to do some kind of thing for each "tribe" to try to protect and steal from the other "tribe". Maybe a sacred lawn gnome?

I'm trying to think of more ideas, so what do you all think? What would spice it up and give players something worth actually fighting for? Obviously each side will have their camps, but I'd like to have plenty of incentive to actually fight each other. Something to gain from the conflict. . .

I like the idea of a HUGE map (not the "huge" option in the world configuration, something even bigger). Big enough so set like 3 communities and these communities can roam around the map with a low chance of bumping into someone from a different community.

There would be a neutral zone where communities can meet to exchange resources and such. In this zone, no one can take or inflict damage on other players. Maybe a trade system as well.

PvP would be always on and, even though there would be resources to build the community, it wouldn't be something to last forever. One side would have more of "a", while other side would have more of "b" and the third side would have more of "c", which would give a reason to players to negotiate or invade other communities.

Or something like that, I don't know

So my player wanted a PvP server. I gritted my teeth and agreed. I have never been on PvP... I expected carnage and a lot of stress.

Later this evening, two guys and I are building a koalefant pen (for manure without beefalos in heat), cooking stuff, putting up farms and chatting our mouths off.

I will try to get a mic for TeamSpeak. Because singing "Long Lankin" through chat leaves my fingers sore.

Honestly. It was likely the most relaxed server ever. I think objectives like the gentleman above suggested would be neat. I suggest an admin building an elaborate setpiece. I will try by getting some ruins on the surface with mobs protecting them. Whoever survives gets some exclusive thulecite gear. Suggestions?
