Hey - sorry I have been offline for the weekend.  Can you post an img of your world?  Instead of taking a pic with your phone - can you CTRL + PrtSc, save the img and then upload to this thread? It will give me a clearer image to look at

i would but i'm not home i'll barely get home by tuesday i think

if you would wait until tuesday i sure will

you'll wait?

If you can't find swamp and need it very much, you can always use Map Revealer.

You can find out the location of swamp, then turn off mod to hide non-explored areas again.

that would count as a cheat i don't want to cheat pretty much on my saves but if I'll have to then sure

MD=Maxwell's door

i don't know why I marked it lol

@queenb33 i used the better compass mod yeah i had to i'm prepared for the summer anyways but it's been like 44 or 45 days and i had to find the swamp because i have a lot of cooked monster meat in the fridge.Found 3 treeguards in desert killed a lot of hounds killed some spiders found the miner hat set piece mined some gold

Its quite hard to tell in those pics what is and is not the edge of the map, If it were me - I would be exploring the areas close to the forest - above the pig king and to the right first.

That big area in the middle - is that land or the edge of the map?  This is why I walk the very edge of the map -  that way it is very clear to see where I still need to explore

I would also check out the north, north and north west of the savannah in the first map

Mods are very easy to install from steam workshop. Just go to mod page and then press subscribe.

Steam will download and install mod automatically.

You just need to enable it from Don't Starve menu

After you enable it and press apply mod will start working.

i have the last DS version but it's not steam i have the steam program but when i click subscribe nothing happens

Something I like to do with each new world is c_countprefabs("prefabs") to make sure it is a balanced world. I typically check for reed count, pig king, mctusks, and a couple others. Once I'm in the world I like to follow the "right-hand rule", that is, I spend my first week or so walking the border of my world keeping the sea always are my right hand. This way I know the basic layout of my world almost right away and I can place my base much more knowledgeably.

so what you mean here is that i can find the swamp just by looking in the prefabs?

Sorry no, that wasn't clear. It can give you an idea for how abundant swamps are in the world before you start playing much. You'll have to use a map revealer or your feet to find where the swamps are
