I ran to my base to prepare and take a fresh thermal stone and was ready to kick him in his butt, but"t" it despawned. So there's always little time, sometimes even less than a day. The only advice is: be quick. The Dragonfly and I think Deerclops and Bearger despawn if you leave the screen after they have seen your base (e.g. science machine, thermal measurer, lightning rod stuff like that). Yeah, I think you just lost the GMoose.
