Jungle Trees Obscure Vision

Recommended Posts

Does anyone else notice how often Jungle Trees can inhibit your vision on land? Because of their large branches and foliage, they obscure items and other assets on the ground. You often have to rotate the camera to farm smaller resources, and sometimes twice if the loot falls behind the foliage of a Jungle Tree. If the leaf/ branch size of the Jungle trees were reduced, it would remove this issue entirely. I know it's a nitpick, but what does everyone else think about it? Can get old if you've played hours of Shipwrecked and have to keep on rotating the camera just to pick up resources and see the ground fully.

Hey @P3dro welcome to the forums. I'd suggest the "Do Action" button, this is the Spacebar by default and can be bound to another key in the Settings Controls Menu. Do Action forces your character to do nearest doable action, in this case pick up items from the floor or harvest a renewable resource(sapling, grass, vine, bamboo, etc.).

I believe the large jungle trees are great and obscuring vision is their main feature. It's a Jungle, it's suppose to be challenging but manageable enough for the player to navigate through. The do action button is all you need though. Even then, if the trees are still a bother, feel free to cut them down.

Cheers.

I actually hope it was on purpose, and I like it. Usually, jungles are very dense (full of smaller trees, vines, plants, etc.) and you can barely walk without having to chop down some stuff with a machete, which would be very impractical in DS. However, with those big trees, they managed to create a feeling of ''the jungle gets in your way'' without being too much of a problem, since you can rotate camera, press space bar to do actions, chop down the whole forest or even burn it if needed.
