Game very easy

This games is very easy now. I survive with wolfgang for 243 days, and I can survive 500 days more. We need more challenges and more difficulty. Kills whales, done. Kills palmsguards, done. Klls sea hunds, done. Kills swordfish done. survive to rocks volcanics, done. Also I have two Touch Stone, I am inmortal.  http://prntscr.com/9l45pb

 It's not the game that has to get harder, it's you who has to step down your game strategies because you mastered the game. There are more than enough ways to make the game more challenging, let's take SW for example:

  • You kite everything and come out of battles unscratched? - Limit your arsenal to spear and no armor.
  • Fighting poisonous enemies? - Don't wear poison protective gear.
  • Gathering food is easy? Limit yourself only to veggies from farms. Enjoy the waiting.
  • Food is OP? Make only low-tier crock pot recipes.
  • Krampus sack is too forgiving on inventory management? - Put it down, take a thatch pack.
  • Getting ice from the machine is too easy? - Go collect hail only.
  • No grass, twigs, berry, mob farms.
  • Sick of sedentary life? Go nomad.
  • Boats are too fast and got too much health? Use the log raft, it's so slow it's good.
  • Etc.

I wrote this in 5 min. Boom, game just got harder. But there is to note the supposed over-nerf of the volcanic eruptions(I didn't manage to test it out for myself) and that SW is still in alpha, things will change.

 

Just like in the RoG sub-forum where people complained that old bell shouldn't deal damage because it's an easy kill for giants, I will tell you the same:

 

This is a sandbox game other people's gameplay style doesn't affect you and vice-a-versa. It is their decision on how to play and not yours. No one forces you to resort to a specific gameplay style.

 

 

What is it that you want? 1 shot kill mobs? Every mob is poisonous? Scarce resources? Give an idea.

Use Wes then... Remember this is early access it's still in development

Yeah, actually I thought there should be one. My idea was to have the dodo be able to hit you for 3000 dmg with the same animation as the volcano boulders. There would be only one in the game and it would be guarding the cage with Woodlegs. And its funny to sometimes get 1 shot if you got nothing else to do.

 

I think the way you propose could be played once or twice but in the end i don't think thats the solution. By your logic we should just run around with no weapon trying to fist kill everything... Obviously the game is alpha and it lacks content(a lot of it - kraken, caves, more clockworks, 3/4 of biomes are empty).

 

Still the truth is the truth, this game is too easy compared to RoG as of right now.(giants, ancient guradian, caves/ruins, and more stuff in each biome)

To be honest, I think shipwrecked is hard enough in certain places, but definitely too easy in other places. Everyone knows that food is too abundant, that could be changed. Also the new crockpot meals are too helpful to be made with such easy ingredients. Hurricane season is also way too easy, it's pretty much the same as dry season but with slower walking in a direction, and with 21 days to prepare an umbrella and football helmet are easily acquired. However, the volcano season is pretty balanced as of now, as the meteor showers are more intense but much shorter and less damaging.

Hold on now, new ideas are constructive and require a little effort. You're a madman for suggesting this!

Your comments have 0 value dude ... he at least write down what is easy so developers know what to look for i new updates. Not everyone can suggest tons of new features.

 

And about ROG vs SW? You can prepare for all 4 seasons in 10 days and sit in your base doing almost nothing ... try that in ROG

 

Also ROG caves/ruins with seasons? Tell me how easy that is for you please. Some people even make threads now that it is hard. No problem for me but you have to prepare properly to explore ruins/caves and outside of summer even more.

Clearly what is needed is an obstacle where you need to give constructive feeback in order to overcome it. That'll  be super-challenging for these folks! (-:

Where did he write what was easy? A ton? I ask for at least one idea.

 

Comparing hurricane to winter is quite hard because hurricane is followed by monsoon, which has floods.

If the player is limited only to calm season to gather enough bamboo because during hurricane season plants wouldn't grow like in RoG winter, it would seem impossible to gather enough for sand bags and still have time for other things(let alone enough resources for those machetes).

 

One way to balance hurricane is to make the sea weed be blown away. Mussel sticks that weren't harvested also go with them (but the mussel site remains). Also to make walls protect you against the wind(if they don't already), then increasing the chance of uprooting and destroying structures. That way you'd have to farm for walls. Can't think of anything else unique that wouldn't make SW a RoG clone.

 

I admit, RoG had me on the run in order to prepare for winter and summer, I realize that now. I wouldn't have survived in RoG without a bee box but I did in SW.

 

Hold on, caves are another matter, SW doesn't have its volcano caves implemented yet.
