THEGHOSTOFGAMING Posted December 7, 2015 Share Posted December 7, 2015 I'm on day 45 now, and I've searched a large chunk of the ocean but I cant find any of these "shipwork knights" everyone is talking about. Is there a specific place they spawn near or is it just random? I really need the gears to build an Ice fling-o-matic to survive the summer. Or you can find it by digging sands, but it's quite low proability. I had explore about 20 islands or more, and i not have seen any tresure with gears, any in the sand or find any teportato thing. THEGHOSTOFGAMING Posted December 8, 2015 Author Share Posted December 8, 2015 Yeah after playing around with treasure maps and opening boxes, digging up mountains of sand and searching for this "alter of things assembly" I have found no gears yet. I guess I'm going to have to dodge volcano fire for an hour instead of using icefling-o-matics to protect my tiny island. Richie84 Posted December 8, 2015 Share Posted December 8, 2015 I have a suggestion to add concerning gears. I noticed a broken novelty ride on some of my games. Is it possible in the future, if this isn't implemented already, that we can use a hammer on that thing and get gears from that? Envoke Posted December 8, 2015 Share Posted December 8, 2015 Outside of the Thing portal, you can try to get lucky and get it from treasure chests, but that's pretty dicey. On my current run I got 4x Gears and then 2x Gears in a row, so I got pretty lucky. I've gotten enough gears to build most of the stuff on every +40 day run I've had, so you just gotta keep moving and exploring often enough. I'm sure they will add more Gear mobs later on though. The vanilla Don't Starve started with Gear Knights, so maybe we'll see the other Gears too floating around.
