Where to post mods?

Recommended Posts

Do you mean suggestions/help requests/bug reports for mods enabled in Shipwrecked? Or where should you submit a mod you've created for Shipwrecked?

If it's the former, either in Mods and Tools or by messaging the creator directly (through Steam comments on the mod, or on the forums if they're here). Most mod creators prefer Steam comments or private messages though.

If it's the latter, you can upload directly to the Steam workshop and/or you can upload to the forums here: http://forums.kleientertainment.com/files/category/13-dont-starve/. Many mod creators do both, since some people don't play DS via Steam.

You mean on Steam? Or here on the forums? My bad about the forums, the actual upload page is here: http://forums.kleientertainment.com/files/. You'll be prompted to select which game you're uploading a mod for.

If you mean on Steam, hover over your Library, then select "Tools". There will be "Don't Starve Mod Tools" which you need to install. I haven't uploaded a mod myself, but here's what another modder had to say about it:

After installation, open the Don't Starve Mod tools in your Steam library and run the first item in the list. It will ask for a folder selection ... choose the folder containing your mod and complete the blocks in the window to submit your mod to the workshop.

I found it important after installing the Mod toolkit, to create a new folder in Steam/SteamApps/Common/Don't Starve Mod Tools/mod_tools/new folder and move the autocomplier.exe file into that folder so that it won't automatically start compiling The Screecher every time I run the game.
