Dear Klei!

First things first.. Hey, its great to see the "Shipwrecked" thing. I wonder, is that in any relation to whatever I had posted long time ago, about the "rafts" and the sea that's gotta be used to "escape" the Maxwells trap ?

(I can probably dig up the link to that posting of mine, but heck) Or is it just some sort of "great minds think alike" stuff :-) Anyway, its good to have the story continue.

Now the practical part. I've been searching the forums and the "internets", but has not found an answer.

How (or is it) possible to load a specific map or specific scenario - using the console commands? I mean specifically the single-player mode, Reign of the Giants enabled.

I would like to do something like "Start_Episode( name_of_map, name_of_character, setup_file, other_parameters )" in the console and go directly there to test things etc.

So far I've dug up to "gamelogic.lua" file, but calling separate functions like "DoInitGame" (or whats the name) seems inappropriate.

Can you possibly provide some information on how the game/world/scenario is being started? Or provide a link ( this site is not very user-friendly for searching the complex stuff )

I promise I shall share whatever I might possibly do under conditions of GNU public license (or BSD-like) so no stealing of IP.

Secondary question. There is a file called "telnet.lua" or something. Is it being used for telnetting to a "don't starve together" server, or .. as some notes in it suggest, it can also be used to connect to a local signle-player game server and issue the commands and see the debug output - outside of the in-game console?

Thanks!

Yours, Paul AKA Russian

In theory, anything that can be done in the code, can be done in the console.

I'll get back to you on the Scenario loading.
