Symage
I've been recently playing Don't Starve again and I wondered when the Giants attack. I'm already 15 days into autumn and I don't want the Bearger to wreck my base. I didn't change anything about the season length and Giant spawn rate in the World Options, but I think Giants spawn in the last 3 days of the season if I remember correctly. I'm not really sure, and as said, I don't want to be ambushed by the Bearger!

Bearger: Pretty much every autumn after the first one, Early-mid autumnDeerclops: Sometimes spawns twice in winter, normally near the start or at the endMooseGoose: comes in spring when the asparagus plants are in bloom, after a few days of springDragonfly: Mid-late summer From what I've played, anyway. Edebadi
The first giant attack comes at day 27 if you are lucky. With default settings,it should be winter or summer. With default settings, sometimes there is no giant attack.

~Matt
Sometimes I almost believe it's RNG. I've recently made a new world I'm 210 days in, which means I'm in year 3. I've seen no Beargers and the GMoose was absent for one spring, but Deerclops and Dragonfly have had flawless frequency. Giants are weird. Also, getting in the caves and finding summer waiting outside the sinkhole is just... depressing.

I haven't missed a single giant (unless bearger doesn't spawn tomorrow in-game) and I'm on day 160.
Symage
Deerclops attacked two days before spring, he wasn't that hard to beatPs: can I get with 60 pieces of ice trough summer?

I hardly use any ice in Summer, except to make the flingomatics. Nitre is much more mandatory.
CarrieMein
Nitre is only mandatory if you don't have endothermic fire pit setup. It can be refueled just like a regular fire pit.

But staying at your base during Summer just cuts a lot of the productivity you can have with such a long day. Most times I find myself in the need of an endothermic campfire, mostly because I either spend Summer away from my base or in the caves.
