Shipwrecked - Can we use old saves ?

Hello Everyone,

 

First i would like to ask for NO SPOILERS. I want to play it clueless and get punched to the face like the first times i played DS.

I just heard we are going to get new content into the single player and i couldn't be more excited.
I have a world almost with 2k days, with a huge base and i would love to be able to use that map. Why ? Because it would be amazing to bring more stuff and make it even bigger and better.
So with that i have the following questions:

1) Will we be able to use RoG Saves ?
 

2) Will we be able to travel from one place to another with new stuff (whatever that may be)?

For the first question, I can't know for sure but it is highly improbable. You couldn't use old DS vanilla saves for RoG and I don't see how that would change in Shipwrecked. 

 

As for the second question, you will be able to move items from one world to another. For reference go to this thread: http://forums.kleientertainment.com/topic/57752-shipwrecked-update-sept-2015/

I heard Shipwrecked would work as a New dimensonal World (like adventure, you travel but you can come back) and if that is the case maybe it would be possible to use RoG save.

Shipwrecked is going to be a DLC instead of a standalone expansion.

 

Players who own Shipwrecked can start either in Shipwrecked or in the base game world, and through some hard work, they will be able to travel between the two worlds.

While I don't know if older saves will have Shipwrecked areas generated into them after the update, you will most definitely be able to come back and forth from RoG and SW areas.

Well if shipwrecked is just gonna be a whole new world, then there's no reason that old saves shouldn't work. Unless you need some new magical resource to travel back and forth.

I guess you need some special thing fore sure. The question is will it spawn or be able to be created the same way they spawned the new stuff on the water that you can see in the old saves ? Would be cool
