Hardcore characters

Recommended Posts

I saw that in Dont Starve Together there will be characters skins. I saw a Young Wilson , W.I.P. WX-78 and Burned Willow

I would like that these characters are a nerfed version of the normal character.

Young Wilson

100 health

150 sanity, but it drains 25% faster than normal Wilson

Doesn't grows a beard

20% less meele damage

Burned Willow

Takes 25% damage from fire, instead of being inmune

Creates fire in a random location when sanity is below 50%

WI.I.P WX-78

Takes 3 damage per second when raining

Gears are 30% less effective

Takes 10% more damage

Something like that, like a Werebeaver Woodie, that its a lot easier to transform in a Werebeaver.

again, sorry if someone suggested this beforw

Hmm idk i like the world generation at default values, it'd be cool to just amplify damage values a bit to make only combat more difficult

I'm always a little leery of any solution that involves someone having to spend time to make a mod when the same result (higher difficulty) could be achieved by changing world gen or simply self-imposing challenges (like fighting only with an axe, for example)

True that, you can always add challenge for yourself

These types of things can be modded in.  As klei would have to dedicate alot of time and effort to make these "hardcore characters" as polished as the original characters, this task is better left to the modding community.  Who generally have more time to play the game and theorize what would make a good hardcore character trait.

Also I asked this on the dev stream, it's possible for code to recognize what types of clothes or character skins are currently active, so it's more than possible for modder's to make it so skin's have an in game effect like is what's desired.
