OverrideSymbol

Ah... I thought it was internal folder names that are hidden from the game.

@Kzisor, thanks a lot! Now it works with this code:

owner.AnimState:OverrideSymbol("swap_object", "swap_godstaff", "image")

But now there is another issue. the character holds the weapon for the top left corner of the image:

I set the pivot point but it does not help:

@Maris, you must set the default pivot position. Setting the pivot position does not affect it unless you're using the animation file.

 

Make sure that your Spriter project has no errors otherwise it won't recompile properly.
