A pig won't stop following you for a specific amount of time after you've fed him some meat. This is of course super fun - a pig running after you - but it can also be an extra difficulty modifier. The first time I let a pig go with me, he changed at night into a scary Werepig and killed me quite quickly because I didn't expect that. If I was able to tell the pig "Go home, Pig!" right before night, that wouldn't have happened. My point is, how would it be to add commands to the game that you can use with all your followers? Commands like "Attack", "Stay Here", "Stop Following Me" and "Stop Eating My Freaking Food You Pig" would be great (the last is not to be taken seriously). This way you can control what your followers do to some extent, giving you an extra option to play the game exactly how you want to play it. For example, if you want that annoying Tallbird to be dead, just send your pigs towards him/her, without attacking the bird first yourself in order to trigger the Pigs. It's a very simple feature, but I think it would add more dimension into the game. Ideas? :D

You can actualy make them attack withount doing the first hit yourself, just stand far away and click "attack" and quickly run away before you attack, they will still attack it :)

I think it's entirely intentional. Everything in Don't Starve is intended to have trade-offs. With Pigs, they will help you in fights and they will do about 99% of your tree-felling, but they will also eat almost any food they see on the ground, they are highly distractible, will aggro on spiders at the worst possible moment (generally, dusk), and will turn into werepigs if they get their hands on too much of the wrong foods, or if it happens to be a full moon.I think, given the design philosophy, Pigs (aside from the issues of exhaustible pig houses, which is still being worked on. I think they will find a way to make Pigs more expensive to maintain, but sustainable) are one of the more perfectly-balanced game elements. A definite net positive, once you know how to deal with them properly, but with all sorts of drawbacks which restrict when and where and how you want to make use of them.

If they ever improve interaction capabilities with the pigmen (friendship meter, anyone?), maybe "telling them off" to going back home can lose a sort of "Friendship Trust" with them, and unable to make friends with the same pigman (by name) again or for a short while (in-game days). It'll be interesting, I think. Dogs have these kind of feelings too, after all.Edit - This is as a Trade-Off for the command to stop them from following.
