b0niK
I've played this game for about 30+ hours now and I was wondering when the alpha features would be complete?Steam says march release, but I hope they actually make a game out of this and not just make framework for a game world. It would be a shame to leave it as is, as there is much potential to create a game from the world they're creating. Are there any hints on what kind of game they will make? Adventure? Base building? Toaster Fu
Welcome! Take a look at this. And you'll be happy to know that the Devs have decided to keep adding content for 6 months after the full release.Edit: Semi-ninja'd!
Syd
Don't Starve will be undergoing a lot of changes in the next few months. Like the thread that was linked above shows, we have major new mechanics, story mode, and a more robust freeplay mode to look forward to in the near future. b0niK
Thanks for the replies. I'm interested in story mode now. I personally find "sandbox mode" pointless once you learn and play around with game mechanics for a while, there is no incentive to grind forever if there is no "end" and I seem to lose intrest in a (finished) game that only offer a sandbox mode. A campaign is what makes a good game great.
TheHomeChicken
there is no incentive to grind forever if there is no "end"Although what you say is a good point, i disagree. But that doesn't really matter, because what i wanted to point out was the quote. It's kind of ironic you mention that, because Kevin has mentioned that he doesn't WANT you to grind, he wants you to have to experiment, and some other stuff (Can't remember exactly what he said at the moment, but "No Grinding" is the basics.)
