Dave0522
Except it's not "your world, your rules" when some random douchebag comes in and creates damage worse than what a giant would do. It is your world, your rules if you're the person that created the world. If you join a public server that chooses not to use mods you own nothing on that server. Everyone has access to anything you build or create. But you knew that before joining the server. Not denying the frustration caused by people that disrupt the server. Your anger is valid. But people that choose to grief will find a way...even if you remove their ability to haunt and burn. Vanderer
Yes, I would love it if Klei helped with greifing more, but they are already doing what they can, and they have other things to do.I can see the viewpoint as to why Klei should try and prevent more griefing, but I can also see why mods should just be used instead. It's a tricky half and half perspective. I raised a point awhile ago about how to stop structures from burning by player hands, and had several ideas come from that.Generally the best thing to do is to try and find a server with mods, and yes, while I admit they are rather limited in terms of ones with protection some is better then none.Managed to go 90 days on an endless server and build a sweet base to my hearts content, at least. Thank you mods. SuperPsiPower
Not in a form of what one mod has (where when you try to hammer a structure not built by you Not a good alternative. Moon Rock walls could trap a player without any means of escape unless destroyed, or can be trapped by structures built by another player who could refuse to hammer them. a locking and unlocking system Irrelevant to this topic. We are talking about griefing, not having our own place to store our equipment, If you can't trust those that are on your server to ask for your stuff, you're better off with a pass worded server. And the 3 things @enragedcamel said were Haunting items and structures can no longer set them on fire.Player-started fires can no longer destroy buildings or anything planted by players.A player must remain on a server for 5 days before they can hammer down player-built structures.None of which are talking about Locked boxes for our own stuff. Pyromailmann
What would make more sense is a craftable item that protects against those things. a locking and unlocking system Anyone here remember when "treasure chest" got an update?\*cough cough* locks *cough cough* Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/54363-three-simple-changes-to-permanently-end-most-griefing/page/2/#findComment-640490 Share on other sites

RalphKastro
* players (be it in ghost or alive form) can not light anything on fire that is near enough anything else to cause chain reaction (this would solve most fire griefer problems. Upon trying to light a tree, which could cause a chain reaction at the time, the character of the player would announce something like "I wouldn't want the fire to spread" (for Wilson) or "If it all burns now, there will be nothing to burn later" (for Willow)). those are some good ideas, very interesting. Should be disablable, though. But wouldn't this one idea be absolute hell to implement?
