Maris
Fox example, I have mod that gives admin rights (to kick etc) to my friend. Other users know his steam ID, and inst.userid How to protect my mod from clever cheaters? Is there 100% unique id for each user? Developer PeterA Posted January 28, 2015 Developer Share Posted January 28, 2015 @Maris, the inst.userid is the unique ID that belongs to each account. Are you concerned about someone spoofing that userid? Maris
Are you concerned about someone spoofing that userid? Yes, I am concerned about that. If it is generated and stored on local machine then it could be replaced I think. Developer PeterA Posted January 28, 2015 Developer Share Posted January 28, 2015 @Maris, I don't know the specifics, but the user ID is authenticated when logging in, so I don't know that it's a simple as replacing the userid and spoofing yourself as someone else. might be able to confirm that.
