KKyang
Today I just update my DSt and found that KLei offers a Windows version of dedicated server. I installed the server from Steam but I wasn't able to type any command (including ~) when I start the server. I also followed the Wiki to generate a server token. Doesn't help either. Any ideas? Thanks.
Kzisor
The dedicated server is a simple service it accepts no input via the console window. If you're talking about sending commands you must press ctrl after you have the console open to go into remote mode.
rezecib
@KKyang, If you're not showing up as an admin on the scoreboard (which is what you need to be to enter remote commands), then the token isn't getting set up properly. There are a bunch of things that could go wrong with it, I think, and all I really know is that it worked the first time for me, but I used an alternate configuration direction (by setting the launch options in Steam). Someone was saying they were having problems being recognized as an admin when hosting a dedicated LAN server, though. If you are showing up as an admin, then you should be able to execute remote commands. Are you pressing ctrl on the console (~) to make "Remote:" show up before entering commands? Developer MarkL Posted January 28, 2015 Developer Share Posted January 28, 2015 I suspect @KKyang is referring to the fact the server doesn't have a way to input commands directly in the console window. I'm looking at adding this feature (or something similar) in the near future. In the mean time, as @rezecib mentioned you can log in as a client and press ctrl to enter remote input mode. KKyang
Thanks! I'll try to remote the server. I thought I can type commands directly on the console.
