  2. @Chesska, RoG content is being integrated directly into the Don't Starve Together experience. If you own Don't Starve Together you receive access to all of this content at no additional charge. @SnowyPanda, your friends must also own Don't Starve Together, and opt into the beta testing branch to play in your games.
  3. It's currently not supported, because our servers run as their own steam user. We are looking into some of the privacy alternatives Steam offers for dedicated servers, like groups/clans.

  5. We have a known issue with connecting from inside the same network as a Dedicated Server. We will be working on a fix for this in the coming days. I'm not sure if anyone else can suggest a work around in the mean time?

  7. I’m happy to announce that as of today the Dedicated Server Client is now available to everyone! A Dedicated Server is an optimized version of Don't Starve Together that has been designed to be run for longer periods of time, with none of the graphical overhead. The Dedicated Server is available through Steam and anonymously through SteamCMD, on both Windows and Linux. It is also available through the Steam client, listed under tools. You do not need to be logged into Steam to run the server.   9. Hey friends, I'm about to start rolling out keys to random users who requested dedicated servers over the weekend. So you should start to see community hosted dedicated servers which have no affiliation with Klei. We still have to smooth out the dedicated server hosting experience a bit more before the general release, but it's going to be really soon. I'll be making an announcement post when the server files go live for everyone- including documentation and download instructions.
  10. [Server Crash] - Server crash when saving.

    Hello friends, Please allow me to clarify. First make sure Don't Starve Together has been shutdown. Settings.ini changes how our game runs, you may be able to get past this issue by disabling snapshots in this file. The file is located in your documents folder, under Klei\DoNotStarveTogether\settings.ini On my system that is: C:\Users\Mark\Documents\Klei\DoNotStarveTogether\settings.ini Look for the line that says: [network] If you don't see a [network] line, add it to the bottom of the file. Below [network] please add this line: enable_snapshots = false Save the file, and you are done!
  11. Cloud saves are disabled in the current build. They are currently slated to go back into our game with the next patch, unless we find anything broken with them.
  12. In an ideal world, all game servers would have a properly configured router that forwards all necessary ports. But most players don't want to deal with all this network mumbo jumbo. On public networks you usually don't even have the permissions required to do this. When you host a Don't Starve Together server, we use a technology called UPnP to try to automatically configure this communication for you. But, as jbeetle pointed out, this automatic port forwarding doesn't work in all cases. That's why we will be hosting a 'Punch Through' server, to facilitate connections between systems that could not otherwise communicate. This will be transparent to the user. From the users perspective, clicking join just works
  13. Hey guys, I'll break the silence! We will attempt UPnP port forwarding first, to see if we can auto-magically forward ports on the server, if that fails we will use a 'Punch Through' server to allow you two to connect. This will all be seamless to the user. Basically, you should always be able to play together!
