I think a poll would, in some instances, be very limiting. I find it easier to just check a box then try to add meaningful discussion to a thread and further the idea.

If it's a simple suggestion or a massive pole then perhaps it could work but, enforcing it? I'm not so sure.

Sorry, what I meant to say was that I rarely find the need for polls since my suggestions are usually posted in other people's threads and based on the compiled wisdom of myself and many other wise forum members. You may be thinking "That's not really the point...", but I had to say something after that first sentence.
