People destroying my base

Recommended Posts

I went to go get supplies from the wild and came back to my base before night came. When I got back a player was destroying everything I had and took everything. I had no supplies to make a light source after that and the person had a lighter making light. Tried following him/her to keep in the light but he/she got away and got me killed by the darkness. After I died he/she took everything I had and ran away. I was pretty annoyed and I was wondering if there is a way to keep a player from destroying your stuff or if you can stop them somehow.

Make it password protected and make sure you know the people you're letting in well enough to trust them not to f you up... also, if you see Willow and you don't know who's playing her or even if you do... rage quit... immediately... just exit. Trust Me

Or make a lot of blow darts (if you can) and just camp near the portal...

That'll be fun.

so here's what you do

Step 1) Stand next to the portal

Step 2) c_godmode()

Step 3) c_give("blowdart_pipe",320)

Step 4) put something heavy on the control and F keys

Step 5) leave your computer for a few days

When you get back, nobody will want to join your servers anymore, problem solved, right?

I wasn't gonna mention console commands but sure, that's basically what I had in mind :3

Also, food issues... for your plan I mean...

You have to eat too...

It's really the only way to get enough blowdarts to last for a few days, if people are destroying your base all the time.

naw, godmode doesn't let you starve, your character will just sit there waiting for their next target.

Yeah I kinda realized that and edited it... huehuehue

With that, we can litter the portals with skeletons and no one will dare stay...

that'll be kinda sad though...

oh well...

Ooh, alternatively if they are up for a spot of modding, they could change the default start setpiece so that it's surrounded by ocean and give themselves the lazy explorer to hop off of the tiny island that gets created.

Then the people who come in after have no choice but to quit or starve to death on the tiny island.

For extra torture value to the would-be griefers, they could leave the lazy explorer just out of reach.

If you really don't want to play with anyone else because of griefers, wouldn't it be easier to simply play the single player version of the game?  Or even just make a password protected server and never let anyone know what the password is.

I know that this isn't what the original poster was talking about, but later entries to this thread bring this question to my mind.

My posts were just jokes, but yeah, that's what I would suggest. I only usually play with friends, due to griefers.
