Secluded by "?" Ping

I checked my host with another account, and the ping of my server appears as "???" in lobby list.

 

I think this is why hardly anyone joins my server.

Feeling so secluded ... I can't even use Touch stone if i'm alone in a game...!

The "???" seriously undermines the fun in DST.. and there are always lots of ??? servers in lobby lists.

 

is it possible to be solved??

btw, pings are functioning in-game.

and i'm connecting to internet via PPPOE.

It's because your computer couldn't connect to the host.

I remember Mark mentioning something but I forgot where it was.

You have to port forward a certain way. There's a thread about this...

This workaround worked for me and now my ping shows up correctly and it is much easier to find players. How to port forward will depend on your brand of router. Also make sure that port is open to DST in any firewalls or antivirus you might have.

However, the ??? is dependent on the HOST... not the CLIENT. You cannot change that you are seeing ??? if you are joining a world. The host is the one who has to change their router settings so that Klei can actually ping them.
