Disturbed0ne
Where is the actual game save?Say I'm playing and I'm alive for a really long time and I want to make a copy of my save in case I die, where would I find the files (I have the game on Steam) that actually hold the save info for my specific game? Thanks in advance. Someguy123
Previously they would have been stored in %localappdata%\FLT\Steam\211670\remote but with the recent december 11 update... they appear to be stored in the cloud, permanantly.I've done some poking around, and for whatever reason, with the latest update, saves appear to be on some sort-of cloud server (even when steam cloud is disabled), so you can't tamper with them by hand. Disturbed0ne
So if that's true then you can't play this game without an internet connection? o_O Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/4664-question-about-game-saves/#findComment-37273 Share on other sites

That's our best way of checking. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/4664-question-about-game-saves/#findComment-37277 Share on other sites

Massah
Here:http://dontstarvewiki.net/index.php/FAQQuoting from the article:"Can I Backup my World in case I die ?"(Steam only) Yes.-Open your Browser to ' C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\ '-Then Open the newest Folder, it will be a number. eg.: ' C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\84002848 '-After that there will be numerous Folders, representing the Different Games you own. Locate the File that says ' 219740 ' and open the 'remote' Folder in it.-The Adress Bar should now look like ' C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[your Personal Number]\219740\remote '.-Now Copy the ' latest ' File to a safe Place. After dying you can replace the ' latest ' File in that Folder by the one you saved, and are back at that point of time.Note: Of course you have to backup the file before dying. It has worked for me, even after the 12/11 update. Dr Tanner
What's the fun in "cheating" on the survival in a survivalgame?Dude, the way I see it, video games are meant to be played and enjoyed. That's their only function. If you're not enjoying a game you're playing, you're doing it wrong. If this is the way someone enjoys a game, then that's up to them. As long as they're enjoying themselves, that's all that matters. Unless you're playing Pokémon competitively. That was never meant to be fun. Now I'm actually able to continue from the save. Finding it weird. JebusTheFrog
What's the fun in "cheating" on the survival in a survivalgame? This method can be abused to stay alive or whatever, the way I use it is to swap characters and saves. Disturbed0ne
What's the fun in "cheating" on the survival in a survivalgame? My reasoning is that I'm probably going to be doing an LP of this game for my YouTube channel but I'd also like to play the game casually, that's kind of hard if I'm recording myself playing it for YouTube. I just want the option to have two different saves, one for my LP and one for just messing around off camera.
