The creature seemed to calm somewhat at Cy's remark, despite the obvious mocking tone. His back did hurt, and he was starting to feel light headed... besides, this would make for great irony. The very prey he would one day fell healing his wound. He grinned wickedly at the thought.

"Very well... I will allow you to tend to my wound. Consider yourself honored."

Wilson scowled, not seeming happy with this prospect.

"Cypress, may I speak to you privately?"

Wulfric began dragging over the dead Gobbler, but his ears were sensitive to the squeaky noise.

He forgot the prey in his mouth, and began howling.

Wulfric:"GGGGRRRRRRrrrooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!"

Wilson spoke in a hushed voice so Addomiddius couldn't hear.

"I don't think helping that... thing is the best course of action. It has a huge ego that I find infuriating. And look at it. It's pathetic. We use our resources to heal it and then what? It leaves and we are left with less healing equipment that we will need later."

Addomiddius flinches at the howling, his ears lying flat on his skull.

"Shut up stupid hound! Your howling is irritating!"

Wilson pinched the bridge of his nose with a sigh.

"Fine, but do it quickly. That creature is not staying with us."

Addomiddius puts his hands over his ears and draws his lips into a snarl, showing moderately sharp teeth.

"I SAID SHUT IT!"

(I imagined Wilson taking the word "sigh" out of the air and using it to pinch his nose...

Wh...why, brain? Why?)

{Pfffff lol}

"Mmm hmm" She mumbled not promising anything. Although the tiny animal was annoying it's adorableness and helplessness kinda balanced it's ego. She knelt beside the tiny creature and addressed it's wounds. "There. Don't move around too much or you'll open the wound again. Got it?"

"Alright. You've tended to it. Now let's go; we're losing daylight."

Athena took one last look at the creature. It did seem full of itself, but she half wished she could take it back to camp as a pet.

Addomiddius had managed to not protest during the time Cy tended to his wounds, but he did a bad job of hiding his discomfort. Now he just sat in the grass. He nodded reluctantly to answer her question.

(Ok, time to get off my lazy, procrastinating butt and start this thing up again.)

And so the group left the strange creature, Addomiddius, behind as they continued their gathering. They already had a good amount of food, so they didn't gather too much more before they headed back to camp. However, Athena and Cypress still felt watched, and every now and then something black would run by just outside her vision. They were almost back to camp, close enough for a certain tree to see them coming.
