piratesupr
I know their use to tell us about when to rain and whats the temperature. What i curious about is, is there any delay about temperature and rain?if there is, do you know how much?Because i think it'll be useless if only tell the current right? PS: I dont have it. i just look at wiki. Just wanna know is it worth or not. Tarkolis
The Thermometer measures the current temperature. It is usefull to see when winter starts/ends. A few days before the snow falls you see the temperatur going down and know you should prepare quickly now. When it goes up a bit, you know it's going to be summer soon. The Rainometer shows you if it's going to rain that day. So you can see if you should take an umbrella with you or not. I personally build the Thermometer all the time but the Rainometer is low priority for me because I always take my umbrella with me anyway. Wow all answered in one post.Thank you very much.I think i'll build my thermometer and will build rainometer if i have leftover material. Edit: New Question! I have some question about Thermal stone. My world is on the summer, I have the thermal stone and cool box. My question is: if i bring the thermal stone to repel heat, and little by little the thermal stone's temperature going hotter, will the thermal stone at some point make my temperature higher and it'll be better to drop it? Sorry if my question is somewhat confusing. I can't find the easy word to explain it. Yes, the thermal stone can higher your temperature even more than it would be if you didn't bring it with you, i don't know if putting it in the backpack will stop it, but putting it in chester definitely stop the effect. spencer320
You can put the hot thermal stone in your backpack if you don't have Chester. It will warm you up but not nearly as much as if it were in your inventory.I find the rainometer treks me what the weather is doing now as opposed to what it will do during that day. Useless unless you want the sanity boost from prototyping it. But I usually still build it cause it looks cool! Thanks for the reply! When i ask this question I don't have the chester yet so I was curious. But luckily I just found a chester! But still curious about thermal stone in backpack... the truthseeker
Grats on the Chester! Just noting, the thermometer also can be used to track the upcoming/ending Summer as well as winter. The higher it gets, the closer summer is and vice versa. The idea of the rainometer (when made long ago before many of the vanilla game updates even) was to tell you when it got closer to raining. The further right, the closer it was until it rained. This was useful if you needed to plant crops or get an umbrella ready (especially if Wx.) This now also works in RoG games letting you know about this and possibly frog rains (but in spring, it's almost worthless, simply assuming it's always raining or about to rain being better.) While technically, carrying the thermal stone in a pack may not warm/cool you as much, it still does. Eventually, it will warm/cool to the point it heats/cools you more in the current season that you are trying to avoid. Putting it in Chester then is a good idea of course if you're literally on the border between freezing/boiling. But at that point, you likely just need another (seasonally appropriate) fire. Make sure you have appropriate clothing and accessories (an umbrella in summer for example is an accessory, so is a fan) with your thermal stone at all times during those seasons (and a Blue Chester cold storage unit which is made by filling him with all blue gems before the full moon starts, but it still melts anything ice related unlike an ice box.) lynlynlora
and for the record, it is perfectly possible to survive summer with only a snow chester and two thermal stones. any time you get hot you just swap them out. You never have to worry about your thermal stone overheating you. I would kill for an equivalent Fire Chester for the winter. (Y'know, red gems are already a thing...)
