Shana gasped and covered her mouth with her hands. Honestly, she had expected worse, but it was still jarring. She was still trying to calm herself when the man said something about hunting people like the other man from earlier. It would probably be wise not to use her powers around him. Atleast untill she earned his trust.

Shana shook her head.

"Sorry, sir. I am not a native. Although I have been here for a few weeks. That man from earlier was the only person I have seen like that."

Her voice was quiet with a hint of guilt. Not from half lie she told, he really was the only person she saw who could do that; she just left out that she could do it too. No, she felt guilty about getting his tooth ripped out. Spriggum felt the need to hurt him because she wasn't careful. Atleast that's how she saw it.

Shana hung her head and spoke with a voice of saddness and regret.

"If it's all the same to you, sir, I would rather not talk about how I came here."

She paused and looked back up at him, her eyes still concealed.

"Vanquishing darkness is not exactly my goal. I am simply surviving until I find a way back home."

(Everyone! Quickly, bow! Theodesius de Noms, the food priest has arrived!)

Theodesius was slightly irked at his new title, but decided that the tree-beast was too much of a simple creature to understand. At least he was no longer trying to kill him. "Wherever this... Biting shadow may be. Perhaps its source, or leader."

Spriggum shakes his head, frustrated that his limited vocabulary made the communication of his ideas nigh-impossible.  "The...shadows...come.  To...humans...who...have...rotmind.  They...kill.  They...leave."

(Also, you should bring in this char Blew.

Species: Human/Shaman

Appearance: Zach's black hair is long and untrimmed. He stands tall at a height of 6 feet, and has broad shoulders with a powerful structure. There are faint markings on his brown eyes, as if they were cracked in some way. His blue shirt and jeans are very patchwork in some places, and a bit too small for the man.

Backstory: Zach, even in his infancy, adored the outside world. Unfortunately, he was also blind. This resulted in his parents rarely allowing him to explore the wilderness around their house. Now, his parents adored their child, it was simply a matter of safety that their blind six year old son did not voyage into the forest whenever he wanted. Zach, although he wished to obey, couldn't keep himself from the rich forests. He would take detours coming home from school, or leave when both of his parents were at work, or simply sneak out his window in the middle of the night.

He had done this for two years without his parents finding out about his adventures. During these years, he found that a faint whispering was guiding him forward throughout the forest, helping him traverse the thorns and poison ivy and such. Eventually, he found out that it wasn't one voice, but multiple. It wasn't long after that before he could strike up conversation with the voices.

Unbeknownst to him, Zach had been speaking to the trees. He hadn't gone mad or anything, he simply gained the ability to speak to the plant life around him. And once the young boy heard the voices, it was easy to respond or quiet them, because it would be a horrible headache to listen to all of the trees in the forest simultaneously.

Eventually, however, Zach's parents caught him sneaking back from the forest in the middle of the night. Their nine year old son tried to explain that he heard the voices of the trees and grass, but they quickly decided it was just a game that their son was playing. After they discovered their son's adventures, Zach's parents locked Zach's door each night, and forbade him from leaving the house unless it was for school.

Again, the two parents loved Zach very much, this was simply an act of safety. For what if he had tripped and fallen too far into the forest, and couldn't return home? Or what if he had gotten lost? Or eaten by a bear? Zach, however, was thoughoughly convinced that his parents despised him. So, one day, on his way back home from school, he bolted into the forest. Needless to say, his parents were distraught at their child's disappearance.

Zach lived in the forest for many, many years. He had lost track of the days after five years, and continued living in the forest for fifteen more. He became very friends with the trees around him. These trees, seeing that this human wasn't a regular human who wanted to expand their gray land of smoke and flames over the bountiful forest, taught Zach how to manipulate their branches, how to borrow power from the nature around him.

One day, Zach heard a new voice. It didn't sound like any tree he'd ever heard, but it seemed to silence the speech of the other plants. It's calls seemed to beckon the man, and he began fumbling towards it. Unbeknownst to him, he was walking blindly into the arms of a terrible dark force. When the trees tried to warn him, the darkness simply silenced them. The next thing Zach knew, he was sitting in the world of Don't Starve, with the sound of new trees all around him.

Personality: Zach doesn't trust other humans as much as he does plants, but it isn't very difficult to befriend him. He dislikes any place that he can't be near nature, so he tends to stick to forests. He fairly happy-go-lucky, and isn't the most mature for his age.

Advantages:

Treespeak- Zach can speak to plants, and they can speak back. In this way, he can be warned of approaching danger by having the trees relay information.

Strength- Living in a forest for about twenty years has given Zach a powerful build and strong physical strength.

Nature's Blessing- Zach has the ability to make himself stronger, or others, based on the amount of plant life around him. This could mean anything from strength to speed to a more powerful ability. However, nature requires repayment, and will sap energy from Zach after he performs this depending on how much power he took.

Disadvantages:

Blind- Zach is blind. Without the guidance of trees and/or others, he will be relatively useless.

Adores Nature- Zach despises anyone who so much as attempts to harm nature. Make sure he's not nearby when you chop down trees or pick grass and whatnot.

(... Yeah, that's probably a good idea. I guess the first thread Zach and Spriggum were both in never got that far off the ground, huh?

So, @vanquishbhp , I don't really have any changes to make to that character, is he accepted?)

"So... All we need is an idiot? That will lure the darkness?"

(I second the idea of bringing Zach in!)

Shana managed a small smile at Theo's reassurance. The way he spoke reminded her of the knights from fairy tales she read when she was younger. She of course left out that she wasn't exactly taken compleatly against her will. She lissened to the conversation between the man and Spriggum and saw they were having trouble communicating.

"N-not exactly. Spriggum was talking about the creatures the man summoned. They tend to appear when someone becomes... insane."

"Like yourself?" (Directed at Theo)

Try as he might, Spriggum utterly failed to translate his response.  So in its place, he made a series of pantomimes, of clutching one's face and shaking uncontrollably.  Shana almost fell off at certain points of his improvised speech.

"Under...stand?"

(*cough*you'vebeenninja'd*cough**cough*

nvm I'll work with it.)

Shana would have giggled at Spriggum's attempt at miming if she wasn't occupied trying not to fall, and unfortunately she was too high up to explain what he ment to the nice man.

"Please be more careful!"

She steadied herself.

"I know what you are talking about. If you srt me down I can explain it to him."

Naturally, Theodesius didn't have a clue why the tree-beast decided to have a seizure. But he did understand Shana. "They are attracted to those who are mad, then... And kill them, I suppose. You wouldn't happen to know where of these... Rotminded-ones are, would you?"

(Spriggum, as we can clearly see, is a natural at charades.)

At least that, he understood. "Shame... Well, thank you, ser..." He felt mildly uncomfortable granting the tree-beast a title deserved only by a knight, but did want to express his gratitude to the oversized plant. "I understand much more now." He bowed slightly, thinking.

(He'd kill both teams and 3/4s of the audience just to make onescore.  So no, probably not.)

"Then...we...search...for...shadow...man."

Spriggum grabs Theo and Shana, and sets off in search of Dingane.
