So, you know how there are plugins for games like Minecraft/Garry's Mod that you're able to add things such as more commands ( at least i'm pretty sure Garry's Mod has something similar to plugins ). What would you think of something like that in don't starve! For example:------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Minecraft Plugin, Multi-world: Adds commands to generate another world, ( if you have the permissions ) initiate a command to go to a certain world, command to list the worlds etc. . -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This is just one example of the MANY plugins developers have made for Minecraft and other games.Also, if your curious why i'm using Minecraft as an example I used to be a Minecraft server Owner. But all plugins are not needed to be installed onto the client! So it's not technicly "modding". Though, i'm not a Java scripter so i'm not too sure if this would exactly work with Don't Starve! But it's a good idea anyways! So! Do you think this is a good idea? Or do you know if this MIGHT just be able to work with a few tweaks! Mobbstar Posted August 23, 2014 Share Posted August 23, 2014 The current mod system is more or less a plugin system... asuming you don't override original game files of course.But yes please, I'd love to see some kind of MultiWorld happen, be it integrated commands or a plugin/mod. Don't Starve is written in C++ and Lua I'd say, so no need for Java here! We don't need their silly plugin code, we can make even better one! the truthseeker Posted August 23, 2014 Share Posted August 23, 2014 After they finish working on DST to make it work by itself, I support DST mods (and servers that let us know if it allows mods or not) Just let's get a working baseline before trying to change stuff. Can you explain further? I have never modded minecraft myself (no API yet), and Don't Starve is way different in the core compared to what modders can access using the API, so I wouldn't know.Feel free to put special BBcode spoilers so you can write a very long reply without throwing a wall of text at everyone.
