Lee An
If winter is coming and most of the food resources die or become scarce, maybe a new mob can appear? During the winter the elk/reindeer herds could randomly spawn on the map, in a 5-6 elk/reindeer per herd. They would feed on whatever grass that are left. Unlike the beefalo, this mob is much smarter and don't allow you to get too close and will move away. If you continue to pursue them or attack them, the entire herd will aggro and will try to run you down if you attempt escaping. Well how would you kill them, then? Everyday one in the herd will be randomly chosen, to slow down. To be far enough from the herd that you would be able to make quick work of it without the rest of them detecting their fallen kin. The slain elk/reindeer should drop a meat and a morsel (maybe even an antler?). And if you manage to wipe out all of the elk/reindeer on the map during that winter then next year less of them would spawn? This is just an idea. jujubomber
Sounds good, there needs to be more things to do in winter (since lots of things will either die off or become scarce). Maybe have a predator of sorts also compete with you to get the sickened member of the herd?Antlers could be used for crafting more goods too. Maybe make a trophy for increasing sanity or something? Or making a decoy/bait to either distract enemies or have a chance of encouraging the rest of the herd to stay in one spot longer, making it easier to get closer to them? mobius187
Not sure I would want a new animal that only appears during a season. With monsters that's fine... but I would want to know where animals are coming from and going. I still think birds should have bird nests in the trees... and sleep there at night. But hey, I guess we can't have everything. As for elk/deer as a new animal...mmmm... maybe. I don't disagree with them per say, but I would prefer that an all-year animal were to be added to the game. Of course if they want to behave differently from season to season, that's a different story. I support that. 501105
It would be realistic, some animals travel because of the changing seasons and weather, so why not have it in the game. Having season specific animals or monsters would also add extra excitement to reach each season. Reindeer seem like a good fit for the winter, maybe have a rare red nosed one also. mobius187
huehuehue you made a mistake >: )Ack! I fixed it! Stupid forum... showing I edited it... I miss my other forum where I could disable that feature. It would be realistic, some animals travel because of the changing seasons and weather, so why not have it in the game.
