  1. 1. What biome is more dangerous?

    • The Marsh - Oh, how i hate those tentacles!
    • The Desert - Keep me away from Koalefant Graveyard!

Now that Klei has added a new biome, the Desert, we now have two rather dangerous biomes to be cautious about! The Marsh has always been dangerous, with it's merciless tentacles, wretched mosquitos, and paranoid merms. The Desert on the other hand has a hideout for hounds, and other than volt goats, buzzards, cacti, and all the other dry shrubbery, the desert's rather empty, leading to a tough chance of survival. So which biome do YOU think is more dangerous?

Still the Marsh. Volt Goats are only a threat when electrified. Otherwise, they're a meat source. Buzzards are only "bad" if you have meat. Cacti are just a minor nuisance. And any player that can survive knows how to get away from hounds.

In the swamps, you still often face the danger by getting hit by tentacles, there are also the more predictable mobs in the form of spiders and merms, but you can learn to avoid all of these threats and then nab the items that are left as they battle amongs themselves. This makes it difficult to starve while leaving in/near a marsh, and gives you a good supply of tentacle spikes, silk and reeds, too. The desert's only agressive mobs are hounds, which sometimes don't spawn there at all (had it happen), but resources, including food, can be scarce, unless you luck out with tumbleweed. So, in the end, I'd still say it's better to settle in a swamp, because there's more going on there, just remember to have that football helmet ready. The only reason you'd want to settle in a desert is if you want a handy supply of teeth for tooth traps/blowdarts (unnecessary after the hound waves become bigger) or if you really enjoy picking tumbleweed. ;3

You can live in deserts quite happily feeding of the Buzzards though. You just need some meat as bait and a weapon. Then use aquired Drumsticks with twigs in crock pot for Kabobs and that's it.Or you can hunt hounds for Monster Meat instead (every meat is good for kabobs).

On the other hand in marshes one mistake can cost you your life. Especially at dusk or night, when it is harder to see Tentacles.

Marshes is much more deadly.

I think both are easy biomes:

Marsh: You can clean up Rundown House with a hammer after tentacles kill all the merms, also spider dens in the same way. Tentacles could take a while (by the number of tentacles), but they are so easy to slay them. Since they don't have a AoE, they attack only their first target. So you can go near enough to one to target you and attack you, but not near enough to hit you. Then your group will attack them without revive any damage. Also Chester can supports enough hits from a tentacle before it kill it. You can explore with a walking cane an nobody will reach you and hit you.

Dessert the only issue in desert are hound mounds with a good group you can take care of them. If you are using Wendy, then  you and Aby can deal with a set piece of hound mounds, just at one night attack . In a deserts yo can survive summer with only 10 cactus. Their healing effects heal you more than the damage you take collecting them. Their high sanity boost will keep you sane even using watermelon hat and/or ice cube. In desserts volt goats drop milk, so you can use an ice cube and morning star, get milk and make ice cream (50 sanity boost). Although you didn't need their milk and meat; cactus will regrow before you start to starve.

Sorry any grammar mistake if made one.
