1. It doesn't give me the option to continue my game whenever i leave. I play for a couple of (ingame) days and it says the game saves at dusk and dawn, like it should, but it doesn't give me the option to continue when i start playing again. I'm not dieing either. I'm playing on the steam version if that helps.

2. Is there any chance it will spawn me on a map without beefalo? I've been looking everywhere for them and i can't seem to find them :(

3. How effective are my pigmen versus spiders in combat? or against a tall bird or two? i'd rather know what to expect before i go into combat :p

4. What is the most effective way to replenish my health? Obviously eating does, but are there certain foods that replenish more? I've noticed that eating tall bird eggs helps the most. I've also noticed you replenish more health the hungrier you are when you eat and less the more full you are.

Any answers would be appreciated!

1. i have no idea...wait for game pro to answer

2. yes but very very very low chance, but it can still happen

3. pigman are very effective and strong as long as u have a decent number (2)

4.honey, try to make a bee box by capturing bee and destroying bee hive...but as far as i know honey is realllyyyyyyyyyyy effective

Once you find the pigmen camp and some beehives, you will pretty much never have to worry about starving again. Destroy the hives and make a few bee boxes out of them near your base. If you are having trouble with the bees making honey, catch butterflies with the net and you can "plant" them to make flowers. The more flowers you have nearby the bee boxes, the quicker the bees will make honey. Make a few crockpots and you are set. All you have to do is add two meat (or monster meat) and two honeys to each crockpot, and you will regain like 75 hunger per honey ham, along with around 65 health or so. I'm not too sure on how much health you regain, because it basically heals me to full health everytime I use one.

Watch out when using pigmen: They will eat all the monster meat (and anything edible) dropped by spiders and other monsters if you don't pick them up fast enough.

edit: Just updated the health and hunger for two meat and two honey. It seems to heal ALOT

About the save problem, Kevin just posted this:

Hey everyone here's an update on the cloud issues:

*In theory*, the cloud save API should mirror the files locally if you are in offline mode. I say *in theory* because I have been able to make it not work in my testing. Here's what I have found (testing on an old XP box):

Start the game with cloud save enabled

Play until the game makes a save

Check the save directory - there will be a "latest" file

Without quitting DS or steam, restart the computer (so that it doesn't get a chance to do a cloud synch)

Upon restart, look in the directory - the file will still be there

Start steam and DS. This will trigger a cloud sych

Cloud synch will at this point delete the local file, because it did not properly register it last time

This was a... surprising result. I would think that you should get the "resolve file conflict" dialog at this point, so that you can chose to keep your save.

I'm talking with Valve about this issue, but with winter holidays it's been slow going back and forth. From reading other steamcloud enabled game's forums, it seems like this is not an issue only with DS. Hopefully we'll get this sorted out, and I can keep steamcloud support in the game. If we can't do that, I'll have to add an option to just use the local filesystem instead.

In the meantime, if you hare having this issue consistently, see if you can find a pattern with your machine that might be causing the cloud synch not to occur when you exit Don't Starve. I know this happens if you leave Don't Starve running when you restart the machine - it may happen under other circumstances too.

Hope it helps.

I've also found that Butter Muffins pack a really good punch for healing health and hunger -- and they only require butterfly wings and carrots! Two butterfly wings, and two carrots in a crock pot and you're pretty much set! Butterfly wings are really easy to get -- I planted a lot of flowers around my bee box, and if you set a basket trap right over the flowers you're sure to catch a ton of butterflies every day! If you've got some turbo gardens, carrots pop up fairly often, but you've got the added bonus of being able to find them growing in the wild while you're exploring. This can be useful if you're not able to make honey ham right away!
