Hello dear reader,

I like my beefalo as much as the next player, if not a tad more. And I just had an interesting idea that I'd like your feedback on :)

I'd like it if there were different genders of beefalo, maybe the females would have different colour horns or smaller ones, but then if you craft a wooden bucket using logs or something you could milk the females and if you feed them petals, they would mate :) or is this too much like Minecraft?? Opinions please! :D

Entirely platonic, I hope. :p

Hmmm. Well there has already been discussions as to whether beefalo will have babies, and it sounds like they likely will at some stage. This was hinted in several vague ways by the Devs, such as mentioning the beefalo would have "cycles" depending on the season and that the beefalo hat would play a greater role (maybe you can pretend to be a baby beefalo or get confused as one). Also there's the more obvious issue, and that's the fact that beefalo do not respawn. I'm sure the Devs will want to rectify this matter and baby beefalo is certainly the way to do that.

I'm all for a bucket (new item) that lets you milk female beefalo... and maybe the beefalo hat lets you get close enough to do it.

As for feeding/mating... yeah... too Minecraft. I would prefer it if the beefalo just "did their own thing" (said with Barry White's soft baritone voice). :p

One related idea might be having a "feed bucket" that you fill up with a suitable food (perhaps if wheat gets added then grain?) that would attract nearby beefalo while it's filled up. That way rather than having some complex system of domesticating them, you could push or aggro a beefalo to where your camp is, and keep it around for milking by having the feed bucket going.

This wouldn't be too hard to add if the idea of beefalo (and other animals) eating certain kinds of plants is ever taken up ;)

Different buffalo genders and milking the female buffalos to get milk are good ideas. Also breeding, because I don't like that the buffalos don't respawn. With breeding you have to work to get more buffalos, so this doesn't get a op food source.

I don't like dying the wool/hair this is to close to mineraft and this game isn't a colorful game. I like the graphic and to much colour would ruin it.

I asked Wilson and he said that he likes his top hat and his dapper vest the way they are, he doesn't want coloured stuff. True story.

beefalos don't Respawn ???? argh oh no, i thougt they come back after 30 days or so

They're on the endangered species list! Like dodo birds, or somesuch, and you killed them all? You monster! :o

I'm waiting until the Devs add baby beefalo to create a life cycle for the beefalo. Then I'll hunt them.

No breeding. NO BREEDING. Until a nerf on Beefalo comes along, Beefalo should NOT be breedable. Waaaay too dependable of a food source.

What type of nerf? I found one issue was that players could currently isolate beefalo, but to resolve this there could be an "alpha" beefalo and all other beefalo stay within a certain range of it and thus never become spread out like they currently do.
