Character Ideas

Love "Don't Starve" a lot but I think more characters should be introduced and I have some ideas (down below). Post your ideas if you'd like or constructive criticism about my ideas or whatever, enjoy!

 

Warren

"The Undertaker"

  • Has an everlasting shovel whom is called "Rob", similar to how Woodie starts off
  • Has the ability to dig up graves without losing sanity
  • Has a terrible secret, he turns into a Werewolf when the moon is on the full moon cycle where he has a hunger for meat and flesh so eating Morsel, Meat, Pig Skin, ect fills his meter, similar to what happens with Woodie
  • His appearance would be a simple black suit with a black tie, maybe messy hair or hair similar to Wilson?

 

Woodbooger

"The Cryptid"

  • This is a fun idea, "Woodbooger" is a nick-name for a "Sasquatch" just so you know.
  • Has the ability to be near creatures without them running away
  • Has a large appetite that degrades slower than usual, same with a large amount of health than other characters
  • His sanity is above average but degrades when killing any animal or chopping down trees but gains sanity when killing monsters, planting things, or picking flowers
  • His appearance looks that similar to a Sasquatch/Bigfoot/Woodbooger, that's about it
  • Can grow his hair a bit so he can surve better than others in the winter but still needs to make fires every so often

Oh, fine.

 

Williger

"The Magician"

 

-Is Frail

-Is Magical (Power/effectiveness boost with all staffs)

-He recieves a bit of sanity from every single food he eats, and a boost from foods that already do give or take away sanity.

Is weak: 50% damage penalty with every form of melee weapon, and his punch is more like a kiddy slap :3

-Can replenish depleted staffs with gems

-Starts off with a random staff or amulet

-Purple amulet lasts significantly longer

Wasim
"The Prince"
-Charismatic enough to tame beasts (Hounds and Tallbirds are neutral towards him)
-Not very bright (You need to prototype items twice for him to remember them)
-Has a dazzling crown

 

Appearance: Middle Eastern, black hair that's longer than Wolfgangs, but shorter than Wilson. All around handsome. Wears fancy prince garb.

 

9 out of the 11 characters in this game are white. As for the other two, Webber's race is uncertain since we only see the skin of the spider that tried to eat him, and WX-78 isn't even a human. Come on now Klei, these demographics are just unrealistic.

Oooh, I really like the idea of an undertaker, but I don't like this "terrible secret" 'cause it's so close to Woodie. What if instead, we play up on the death aspect? What if hunger/food benefits are reversed for for him. Fresh food only gives him 1/2 the typical stats and decreases sanity, stale is 2/3, and spoiled food gives him 100%. That would force players to rethink their strategy of hoarding food their icebox, and also puts a twist on how to not starve.

 

Or, what we give him the perk of food spoiling more slowly (since undertakers use embalming fluid, which helps with preservation). Even though he can dig up graves without losing sanity, his downside could be reversing how sanity works for him. He loses sanity during the day, regains it slowly during dusk, and gains it ever-so-slightly-more at night.
