With two new puppets walking in Maxwell's little playground only one issue remains unanwserd:Why hasn't Dark Souls 2 come out for PC yet? Allright allright two issues: Sanity hasnt gotten a lot of attention Now Sanity has the same problem as Hunger and that it is no longer scary the moment you got use to it or know what it actually does. At this point there should be a few new challenges added to sanity what with the DLC being developed right now. Although the Ruins is a start there isnt much added to the Sanity mechanic which is a shame because it tells a part of the story of certain character like Willow. In the sense that she is insane because she has lower maximum Sanity like Wes, Wigfird and Webber. But there is hardly and threat with Sanity unless you are Spelunking or in the Ruins. So what would you fellow scientist do to make it better? perhaps new ways to kill other fellow humans, robots or humanoid spiders (this list can become longer in the future). Or maybe new effects like inanimated objects having faces and the ability to talk. Or more transformations like beardlords. I appriciate any person that contributes to this topic and as usual: FOR SCIENCE! Wilson: Objects and animals randomly become shadows, making them harder to seeWillow: Things seem to randomly catch on fire, confusing the playerWendy: Abigail appears and dissapears at random intervals, monsters sometimes appear to be Wendy until they attack Etc. An Artifact Posted April 3, 2014 Share Posted April 3, 2014 My personal problem with the sanity mechanic isn't even the lack of challenge (although a bit more variation to THEM would be nice), it's the visual experience. With the exception of Mr. Skitts popping up randomly, shadow hands and the beard tribe, there are barely any fancy visual indications of being insane. Instead, the screen gets blurry and flickery, and sounds that are more annoying than scary start to play. I'd much rather have leafy shadowy hands in trees grasping you when you walk past, the totally normal tree turning into a threatening enemy with glowing eyes, pig houses turning into scary witch huts, hands grasping out of the swamps ground.... just do more with this, k? This is the coolest idea for a mechanic I've heard of in a while, you could do so much more with it. Also, instead of just beardlings and beard lords, everything should become twisted--it doesn't make much sense if only a couple animals change compared to the rest. userr3 Posted April 10, 2014 Share Posted April 10, 2014 I would love to see an update on this!What we already have:-shadows attacking you-scray night at the fire-Mr skittlesWhat we really need:-hand out of swamps by @MeingroessterFan-trees probably hopping away when you try to cut them (annoying and strange) or trying to bite you back sometimes-so called "fake attacks": random monster (hound, guardian pig, beardlord, spider, merm, beefalo...) running up to you, doing one attack that could either hurt you (maybe 5 health points or similar) or just play the hurt-animation (Interrupting actions, being annoying), causing the monster to disappear again. This would create a lot of stress for the player and could happen when sanity is at half way down.-birds flying on your head, picking and hurting you a bit and make you run around irritated by @alfreadhitchcock ^^That's definitely a piont which is improvable... Maybe a mod would also do well..
