Thermal stones and those small glaciers.

So It seems that when overheating in the summary you can actual go right to freezing if you pick up the coldest thermal stone and use a parasol. Seems odd that you can go right from overheating to freezing in the hottest part of the summer. Is this something they should or plan to balance?

 

Also I just wanted to know how many of those tiny glaciers generally appear in worlds. My first world had 3. Is that typical?

I think it's the same fact that people get cool when they hold something cold in their arms. Actually, the temperature gradually goes down when u pick up the thermal stone.

U can see it when u play with the mod "Always on Status" on. So, it's not odd for me.

 

3 glaciers? U must have started in spring, right?

Wait, when did u get those ice pieces? In summer?

 

Cause glaciers melt slowly after winter.

There should be more glaciers. You find plenty in a world and pengulls will spawn some where they're ice beds are.

I did only have 3. It is good to know more will spawn though. I did not know that.

 

No I'm not Chinese. I am playing From New Jersey, very close to New York CIty. Not sure why my time zone is for china. 2:22 PM here.

So  My first world had 3. Is that typical?

In my experience 3 would be very unusual.  Did you explore your entire map, or that's all you found?  They spawn in the rocky biomes with lots of boulders - both the large ones that are exclusively that, and also the smaller ones in the mosaic biome, and the one usually associated with the trio of McTusk camps.  Even those partial biomes usually have like 10 each I think. 

 

The ones that spawn in winter spawn from pengulls.  So as long as pengulls keep spawning, you'll always have ice.
