Walrus camps suck.

Recommended Posts

They are incredibly hard to kill, yet their walking cane as a reward and hat aren't good enough rewards. I think that the walking cane should have additional effects, or maybe you can craft a weapon out of the walrus tusk, since it's probably sharp. That way, you don't have to pay so much for a hat and item you can also find in a set piece, and can get more to make walrus camps worth the hassle of killing.

Okay first of all Tam O' Shanter is possibly the best hat in the game because not only does it have incredible freeze-resistance it has massive sanity regen. Also the walking stick is great because it has no durability for what it is endless weapon and fast movement.

I never said they were bad. I just said that walking sticks can be found in a set piece as well, and that while the tam o' shanter is a great hat, walrus camps are extremely hard to kill and just two rewards is not enough.

You just don't know how to kill them. Read  any strategy. If you do everything correctly, then these awards are too powerfull.

The rewards you get from the Walrus camp are incredible! Tam O' Shanter, Walrus Tusk, blowdarts, hound teeth, blue gems.... and that at least six times a winter, if I have the spawn ration memorized correctly. Just build a few pig houses very close to it and put a wall around it, and you're set for a winter full of loot.

How about if: the blue hounds get killed you have chanace for getting hound's tooth and a blue gem? Good enough a reward?

Same could be said for every other creature in the game.

the [insert Agressive animal here] get killed you have chanace for getting [said animal drops]? Good enough a reward?

the pigs get killed you have chanace for getting Pig Skin and meat? Good enough a reward?

the Deerclops get killed you have chanace for getting 8 meat and deerclops eyeball? Good enough a reward?

I would disagree with deerclops. Just the eyeball as a reward from that 2000 health taken away from him and some meat you get from a koalefant as well it's kinda sad.

But you can make a cool houndius shootius if you put in the extra effort. Also the old bell plus ice staff wrecks the Deerclops.

And if you don't know how, if you don't have foreknowledge of his existence, if you didn't read all the tips ahead of time, the odds are almost certain death.  Either way that's probably not ideal from a gameplay perspective.  Ideally I think something like that should be challenging even after you've read the tips, etc, and should not be almost certain death for those who aren't expecting such a massive assault.

Thats what the entire game is about, that's the basis don't starve has been made on,

Live (Die) and Learn.

Tried the old bell. Every time the Bigfoot stepped just next to him (which would harm me badly if I stood next to Bigfoot) but his health didn't go down! I'm not even sure if Bigfoot can actually kill giants such as deerclops anymore!

PS we should be able to examine Bigfoot, you know!

You did freeze the Deerclops, walk right up to him, rang the old bell, stepped back and made sure he stayed frozen until he got stomped on right? For the Deerclops you need to use the bell twice, 1000 damage each Bigfoot curbstomp, the Deerclops having 1500 hp
