The underground layers don't seem to be effected by seasons, atleast insofar as that the player will not freeze to death at winter in the cavesor ruins. Will farm plots, berry bushes and grass continue producing duringwinter if kept underground? Yes, but underground farming's only really viable in the Sunken Forest Biomes due to the shafts of light that leaks in the day-night cycle from the surface (without the pesky season affecting crop growth).
