congratulations on making it through your first winter!!

if you haven't already I would suggest making a decent farm, catching a bird for eggs, building up your camp, making things look aesthetically pleasing as well as functional, or going down into the caves to explore stuff like that

or if you haven't already you can explore your top world and completely fill up your map and know exactly where everything is

there's not really a lot I can tell you about what you should do now without basically giving you a guide on how to play which isn't something I want to do since the fun of Don't Starve is figuring things out for yourself and each individual experience imo

Okay

I'll do what the title says:

Winter!

(Now that I have kept my smart butt status intact :-))

Congratulations on survival; it is a big milestone (not to be confused with a Touch Stone though! :-) )

The best thing you can actually do with my To-Do list below is also explore the world, leaving no areas unexplored (maybe leaving alone the plugged sinkholes for a bit however.)

Have you found all Four Things and the Wooden Thing? what about all Setpieces? Have you increased (or even started) your Bee box Honey production, made farms, made a birdcage and trapped a bird for eggs and custom crop seeds?

Have you found OTHER quarries to mine gold and rock from? Found a big swamp? Set up a Spider farm by killing tier 3 (three bumps) nests and replanted the eggs where you want to attack and collect them? Have you learned WHY you don't leave tier 3 nests to "grow" unless you want to?

Have you made Pig Houses? Did you make a Meat Effigy? if not Wilson, have you figured out HOW to get beard hair yet? if Wilson, have you SHAVED yet FOR the Beard hair?

Somehow if you finish all of this BEFORE the next winter, let me know and I'll give you more to do.

Oh, and remember that after day 37, winter happens AGAIN in 21 days or day 58 and will you prepare stockpiled food and some SEWING KITS to repair your winter clothing?

Enjoy Spring/Summer while it lasts, 'cause it will seem short. Many a new player is under-prepared and actually dies on their SECOND winter. Now I know you won't.

I'm stuck in my second winter right now; actually it's just finished, I'm on day 69. Spider queens everywhere, rock supplies dwindling and deposits are at the other end of the map (I holed up with some piggies). It's a chore, frankly. Will have to devote some serious time to resource gathering in the summer.

But at least I now have MacTusk's walking stick to accelerate the process :-)

Been there too. Best thing to do is gather some monster meat (or meatballs when you're not food resource thin) feed it to all the pigs, and take down a spider queen, rinse and repeat. If you haven't done so yet, make some poultices instead of salves.

Or wait a day after meeting and shaking free of one following you and let them make themselves into a nest. If not an emergency, rock gathering can wait until spring, or can be done in a cave, assuming you've made a light source like miner's hat for the winterless cave.

On a world as Wendy I let the Queen's whateverorsomething set piece sit too long. (I mean the one with the circle of 15ish teir 3 spider nests surrounding another single one). I did eventually kill most of them, with an ice staff, basic armor and a spear. Queens are more fun to kill than hard, I don't know why everyone is so scared of them.

Man I HATE a Queen's Gathering
