Sheriff heard the chatting from outside, he nearly stood up in excitement. it seemed like decades since hes heard another mans voice (it has) but the darkness has a way of tricking him at times, he decided it was better for him to lay low. If they were just voices from the evil outside, they wouldn't dare enter, his only option was to see if they were proceed with what they were planning. He checked his badge to make sure it was fastened to his chest, he aslo set down his reading glasses next to a book hes read a dozen times over.

Eventually, the group made it to the building. Austin cautiously opened the door. He was surprised to see someone else in there, and his hand immediately went to one of his knives. "Didn't think this place would be inhabited."

(thank)

Sheriff watched the door creak open, frozen. He couldnt believe that finally, someone other than him was opening that door. Finally he stood up straight, still behind the bars of the holding cell he looked at them with a curious glare.

"Hey part,- You're tellin' me friend..." He said, walking out of the cell with his hands at his side. He was surprisingly calm given his situation, either he was too old to care or he thinks he is in some strange dream.

(For those it may concern:

This roleplay has resumed. I feel I have sorted through my schedule. I don't expect many of those who were here previously to see this, but if you do and would like to continue this with me, say so here.

For those who have not participated in this thread before but would like to, please PM me.)

(Alright, folks. Intermission's over.)

Before anyone could respond, the house shattered as an enormous vine erupted from the center of the building. A bit of the shattered house flew at the sheriff, giving him an embarrassing yet bloody death. Barry's seemingly broken eyes watched the scene emotionlessly, while Austin and the child shuttered at the death. J couldn't help but chuckle. "There goes him, I suppose. I sure hope there's some leftover supplies in there."

Meanwhile, a certain nearby human female could see a large vine spiral high into the sky somewhere into the horizon.

(Quick question. Is it still raining? I would like it if it was still raining.)

Last we left our intrepid beetle:

Bluhh...foodshh...yum.

This week, he continues his high action dream endeavors:

mehhh...beeeeige...not beigggge...

Tune in next time for more Oxryklne, the shadow beetle!

However, if one were to look at that certain female, they wouldn't have been able to guess she was human. She stood in the middle of and empty plain, her marble, emotionless face turned upward to the sky as the rain ran down her features and soaked the worn cloth tied around her in various places. Water from the sky... she had never seen anything like it before. How she longed to feel the clean water run down her throat. How she longed to feel anything, really, but she could not.

A loud crash grabbed her attention away from the oddity of rain. She turned around to see a enormous vine growing up toward the sky at an alarming rate. All her instincts told her to run far away from it, and quickly.

Quite a bit of rumbling was now occurring underneath the female, and small, miniature vines began penetrating the bricks that were scattered unevenly across the ground.

Meanwhile, the group began scavenging the hut for supplies, finding a few bits of food. They were fairly hungry, as they hadn't eaten in a while, so they stayed there and began to eat. The rumbling hadn't reached them yet.

The female was startled at the appearance of the vines, but the expression etched on her face didn't shift. She turned and ran away from the direction the vines were coming from.

Oxryklne, hungery as well, smelled food and stirred from unconsciousness.

<...huhwazat...?>

She cursed under her breath with still lips as she ran toward the larger vine. Right now it looked as if she was stuck between a rock and a hard place, but the smaller vines were the more immediate threat. Her pace increased as a broken building came into view.

Yeah, I'm up... a beetle's got to eat at some point...

Oxryklne tries to stand up, but his legs are still shaky and he quickly falls back down.

Well crap...

Vines began slowly gaining on her, feebly wrapping around her ankles in an attempt to trip the running female. She could now see, by the house, the silhouettes of a few humanoid figures.

Are you quite alright? That possession must've took quite a bit out of you. I should have expected as much.
