The issue with people bringing up old topics is that it can end up cluttering the front page with threads that people have lost interest in, whereas an entirely new thread would promote a fresher discussion with original ideas and contexts. Saying things that can be interpreted as "just deal with it" when you're called out will just make people mad. (though it was on the first page of topics when I first logged in here and being new to forums I didn't think it was that old...) having reviewed the dates I concur it's an old topic that has little benefit to game play mechanics. Like TMHH said, the usual time frame is about a week. There'll even be notifications when viewing threads that have been stagnant for 30 days.
