privateguy Posted November 19, 2013 Share Posted November 19, 2013 Please read fully!Hi guys so some time ago i bought a standalone version of Don't starve, and right now i think i am running "only thing for nightmares" (I'm not sure what the exact anme is, i cant rememebr but its the version of september 10, something with nightmares) and i want to update it. I know they were updates already posted, but how do i update it? when i log on, theres like this box next to the middle beginning screen, and its says "update is immenient!", and i already signed up for notification service. but, how do i udpate it? using windows 8 version. Can i get my gamekey back, or can i update without the game key? the truthseeker Posted November 19, 2013 Share Posted November 19, 2013 If you bought it through Humble Bundle, are you running it as its own game (Standalone) or though Steam? If this is not the Stream (self-updating) game, the Standalone should launch something called the "Klei Updater" If it doesn't, look for the "Updater" folder in wherever you installed it, open the highest-numbered sub-folder in it, and run the "updater" file there. If it's Steam and isn't updating automatically or the Standalone tips didn't help, submit a request on this site under "I'm having a Technical Issue." Mention this difficulty as well as needing your game code. Of course, you can always ask for your game code there too. I cant find the email, i think Gmail DELETED IT!!! i think it was like in my trrash box or something, HELP!!!!YES i bought it as a standalone, no steam or google chrome. Syd Posted November 20, 2013 Share Posted November 20, 2013 Try making a Humble account using the same email you bought it with, go to My Library from the dropdown box in the upper corner, then click on the link in "If you purchased any other products in the past, learn how to add them to your Humble Library.". If it works like it should, it should detect that you had bought Don't Starve in the past and you can then add it to your games page. You'll be able to get your key from there. If that doesn't work, you may need to contact Klei directly.
