An Interesting Playstyle/Challenge

I don't know if anyone else has already posted this, so I thought I would.

 

Recently, a friend mentioned to me that he'd had an idea for a challenge. After playing a while, I really enjoyed it and thought I'd share.

 

The Updated Challenge:

 

Basically, the challenge goes that you must get through the Teleportato without staying in a world for MORE THAN 15 days, as many times as you can. You may not configure the world settings, you may not play Default+. You can carry only ONE item through the Teleportato, this is one item, so if you choose a stackable, say, for example, Grass you cannot take the full 40 Stack, you can only take one from the stack. You may NOT have mods installed, except the Screecher Cam mod by Simplex, for additional challenge.

But now day count doesn't reset in new worlds...

 

Hang on, does this mean going through in Day 20 means Winter starts when you get to the new world, or does Winter then start at Day 41?

 

If the former, this challenge is screwed.

Yeah, worst accidental change that Klei decided to keep ever. This was no crop circle! Ending up on World Two in day 21 winter with a hound attack wave three was not my idea of a "fun surprise" back then.  

 

I can say before the change, I tried this and got to World four with Wilson. I liked that world so much, I stuck around. if I knew they were going to make the day count change, I might have kept going to see how far I could have gone.  

I can get to 300, but 700...I must be patient...

 

 

It is an honorable milestone that you veteran gamers will make me try to accept. 

I only spent 250 on the surface... Now if the things were in caves this challenge would be a lot more doable...

Oh no..now if you bug them to change it back they'll just say "There's a mod for that" D:

Can't they just copy paste your code and push it with a hotfix?

In principle, yes. In fact, by changing the base game files directly this could be accomplished with a single line of code. But at this point of development they don't seem inclined to do changes that don't fall into bug fixes, especially because the resources for testing changes are much more scarce now.

What bugs me is : Why did they changed it in the first place?
