Everyone knows how to chop trees, right?

Recommended Posts

So I've frequented the forums, never posted, and I have never seen the trick I use for chopping trees mentioned.

Everyone knows you can light it on fire with a torch and cut it down in 1 chop (switch back to axe immediately) before anything else around catches, right?

I'm surprised they haven't fixed this yet. I mean, sure, it's not that efficient because you have to find isolated trees if you don't want to burn everything down, but it's still an exploit. Heck, they even went and fixed a bug where the game would crash if you chopped a burning tree, but this exploit intact? I don't get it.

As Wickerbottom I wrote Chester a book on fire-breathing. This has now become a very effective process. He lights, I chop.

I can have a forest down in minutes. Now I just need more inventory space for all the wood.

Please explain. Have you found a way to make this quirk of the game engine actually useful?
