DaverGamer is correct: In the main menu settings, there's options for the volume of ambient noise, sound effects, and background music. At least, I think those are the categories. You can adjust each separately to your personal preference. If all else fails, set them all to zero, and play with them until you find out which is giving you trouble. Enjoy your metal!
