Do Aggro-Ed Monsters Still Follow You If You Teleport To An On-Screen Location ?

Recommended Posts

And if so - will they ignore walls or eye plants?

I'm thinking of making a meat "farm" with pigs or bunny men or even tall birds by aggro-ing them and teleporting behind a wall of eyeplants with the TP staff.

I'm hoping that since they can "see" me they'll continue to run towards me and also ignore other things attacking them (fingers crossed)

Can you tell me if there are some glaring flaws with my plan before I spend several hours trying to make this "farm" happen?

I'm not too invested in the lureplants - I might just use a tunnel with lots a traps or something. I'm just really curious if the aggravation will be retained after on-screen teleportation and if it will persist even if damaged

There's couple good uses for lureplants - for me at least.

Most obvious is the trash dispenser, go to a nearby empty location, drop you trash and plant 1 lureplant, then destroy it and repeat.

Block 1 side from dog attacks and other predators: planting several lureplants at decent intervals so they can't kill eachother (ie no spawned minion is close enough to the neighboring lureplant to shut it down) will instantly aggro anything trying to pass through, and eventually kill it (fire dogs will most likely set it on fire upon death, but by that time they should aggro at least half of the pack diverting their attention from you  and possibly killing them as well).

Keep something busy: I have couple lureplants near king pig village, some in swamps nearby several tier 3 dens & merms houses, at my fishing ponds etc.

Must just be me, (maybe not always getting to the triple-digit days,) but I don't get many lureplants. Any tips for multiples besides using the settings for more?

exploration seems to do something, i have a relatively small area explored with one branch off into all the important places and I get a good amount, so I guess its easier to find them in a smaller map

Aggrovation varies majorly  on the animal or monster chasing you. For most things, it seems they will not stop chasing until they have be unable to get in range for a attack after about 30 seconds.

Tallbirds actually have a territorial circle they will not go out of.

Pigs give up after awhile it seems, and bunny men will chase you until about 30 seconds of being out of range has passed.

They spawn on areas where you have bneen recently, but you're *not* anymore. aka, on "trail" of your travels. I once though that they have something to do with meat left to rot on ground, but simplex corrected me by checking game files, so I guess you can't beat that argumentation ;)

Welp, so far I did one winter and only found one Lureplant in my explored areas. Maybe as I find out even more land, more plants will spawn. But I already got five hounds so I could really use more :D
