Right now, red mushrooms seem to be the most useless out of the three mushrooms. Green caps can rapidly decrease your sanity and help gaining sanity, blue caps restore hp for a bit of sanity or work vice versa when cooked, yet there is no appeal to the red variety. However one fun use of red mushroom caps is to put 3 of them on the ground near berry bushes so when that turkey shows up the Gobbler can eat them, and die by their poison. Now my suggestion involes this activity.

When you feed 3 red mushrooms to a Gobbler and it dies by eating them, instead of dropping a normal morsel and drumstick it will drop a posionous variety of both. You can use these poisoned meat products to poison whoever eats it, this includes:

- pigmen

- werepigs

- batilisks

- any spider variety but the queen

- MacTusk and son (they eat meat from the ground aswell! This poisonous meal could attract the walruses when they aren't attacking anything)

- hounds

- lureplants

The red mushroom is the mushroom that has the largest quantity in the world, so it is not rare at all. Gobblers appear pretty often aswell. Yet the meat products will spoil over time. I was thinking that the damage could be increased with the spoil rate, the more spoiled the higher damage it does. From 50 when not spoiled, 60 when stale to 80 when spoiled. If these values seem imbalanced let me know.

Now this was only a new use for the raw red mushroom cap. When cooked and fed to the Gobbler, it will still die after 3 caps. However this time, it will blind/confuse whoever is unfortunate enough to eat this poisoned meat variety. This results in the creature not attacking you, but the first creature that comes too close to it. Imagine MacTusk eating a poison morsel like this, and he attacks his own son!

Oh and if you're unfortunate enough to eat the red mushroom cap/poisoned meat, this will happen:

- If you eat a raw mushroom cap/ poisoned meat variety you lose 10hp

- If you eat a cooked mushroom cap/ poisoned meat variety you will be blinded and lose 10 sanity

These two new uses imho could potentially create new indirect ways of combat, for the hassle of finding and poisoning a Gobbler with 3 red mushroom caps and then dropping the vile meat on the ground. It would also make the caps more worthwhile to collect :-)

Ps: I forgot to mention that you can still use the red mushroom as crock pot filler, the new effects are there only when consumed directly. By the magic of the crock pot and DS logic the mushroom remains a viable filler ;)

As expected from you :)

Meh... I use the red mushrooms to get ratatuie, so, I'll say no.

I actually fogot to add that the red mushroom can still be used as a normal filler. It's their normal values I wanted to change, and add new properties to them

The red mushroon (as you already said) is quite common to find, and those effects would make it quite the best weapon/trap for the vegetarian creatures (some of those creatures you suggested to suffer from the effects of the red mushroon don't eat mushroons at all).
